"I am Vandom Dafor, the blue lizard is Fidos Sickemus, and her name is Mary Octavious they're married/lovers something like that I don't really care," He says without hesitation.

"As I said we were attacked by pirates on our way to delievering the cargo."

Dak does his best to look worried. "Please... you must help my wife. She was poisoned in the attack, and I don't know how much longer she'll last..."

The man in the lab coat only deepens in frown.

"She married her bodyguard?" he says. "That seems... improbable. Do you have identification?"

"I'm sure you've seen stranger things happen then that," Xavier says.

"And ID? We lost all that stuff when we were forced to run. Lost the money and half the cargo as well."

"You said you were attacked by pirates?" he asks, as Trax returns with an Epirean. It towers over everyone present and looks grumpy. The man int h e lab coat studies it for a moment before looking past to the ship. "Your ship does not look damaged. Why would you have to abandon your identification? Do you not keep it on your person?"

Using Savoir Faire, Dak will pick a planet near enough that this was a point to come to, but not one that reports of such attacks would be expected from yet. He says that they were conducting a deal, and in the middle of it came the attack. Their official stuff and the slaves they had brought along were left behind as they high-tailed it back to the ship with Mary poisoned.

The man in the lab coat really does not seem entirely convinced, but he concedes.

"Take her into the medical center," he tells one of the mercenaries, who approaches to grab Rianna from Dak.

"I want to come with her," Dak says immediately, not releasing his hold.

"I'm afraid you do not really have an option," he says. "Either you can make use of my medical supplies on my terms or I can have my mercenaries shoot you all dead and take your ship and your slaves. I have suffered enough nonsense on this backwater planet. You aren't going to give me more."

"He is like a dog, can he at least be allowed around her. It'll ease his mind."

"No. The rest of you are going into holding cells until she is stabilized and ready to leave."

Xavier listens to Dak and will say nothing.

Xavier will use Sense on him to get a feeling of his basic thoughts towards them.

Dak tries to put on a pleading face. "Please, sir... she's my wife. She's badly hurt, the last time she was conscious was during the attack, and she's going to have no idea where she is, when she wakes up. If she's all alone among strangers..." He lets the sentence hang, using what Force ability he has in an attempt to nudge the man's mind.

Of course, he wants to be able to explain the situation immediately, so Rianna doesn't decide to start killing people.

Do you have Empathy, Xavier?

"I don't care who she is to you," the man in the lab coat says. "Do as I say or die. Your choice."

Xavier doesn't have empathy, but did his Scan or Sense pick up anything from the guy?

The man in the lab coat is trying to be intimidating and brave, but you sense his fear despite having people to back him up.

Xavier stands to his full height casting a shadow over the man in the lab coat.

"I think we got off unto the wrong foot. We mean you no harm, why is it that you seem so worried then? You mentioned something about problems?" Xavier asks.

He will use Scan again to continue to get a feel for his thoughts.

"Do you think a research lab would hire mercenaries if I didn't have problems?!" he shouts back. You seem to have touched a nerve!

"I'm sorry to upset you. What kind of problems are you having?"

He groans.

"You no doubt saw the bonfires when you flew in? Those are being lit in celebration! The natives of Magnus Delta have been trying to ruin my research since Alternative Chemical Empowerment established their presence here! The automated security has kept them away, but we've received threats saying that the natives will have help in their next attack unless we left. Ships have been entering the system over the past few days, landing on Magnus Delta..."
