STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Rescue

Started by Captain REX54 pages

There is no specific mention of Galder Starkiller in any of the transmissions you crack into. But as you trawl through the navcomp and the ship logs, you get two things.

You cannot find a trend with anywhere the starship has been. It has not visited the same place more than once. However, the navcomp is fixed to a faint beacon.

Also, any transmissions made by the transport were either to the two starfighters accompanying or to something known as 'Guidance.' All records were wiped prior to its venture to Magnus.

Is there anyway for Xavier to get a lock unto the faint beacon, and where it could be at?

If not then Xavier will begin looking around the ship for personal quarters or anything like that.

A bit of tinkering allows you to figure out that the navcomp is locked to the beacon's signal. It cannot jump into hyperspace without returning to the beacon's location, and you cannot get the location without first making the jump to hyperspace. Very advanced, beyond your technical skills to figure out.

There is nothing personal about this ship. All rooms are very spartan.

So the only way to figure out where this ship is going is to be on it when it goes there?

Indeed.

Is it possible for Xavier to put a transmitter on the transport telling them where it went so they can follow?

A homing beacon could be applied.

Then Xavier will begin to work on that. He will also try with all his tech skills to make it so the beacon is as hidden from detection as possible.

Rianna is going to start running out of the village, snapping attacks at warriors as she moves, and Defend for defense.

Dak will... Spin again, damnit! As he moves with Rianna. Obvious Defend is obvious.

Xavier, you roll a 2. Not enough to hide the beacon well, I'm afraid. If they check for it they will find it.

Rianna scores a kill before taking off, while Dak takes down four... but having cleared a route and Rianna fleeing leaves Dak with the remaining warriors. Defending himself, he attains 12 damage before bailing himself... but you are ahead of these incompetent fighters as you clear out of the village and into the mists beyond. The warriors are following, flinging rocks and spears after you as you go.

Well that was a horrible job you did there

"It's better than nothing right now."

I don't suppose Xavier would have the time to try again? 😛

If not Xavier wants to take one last look around the ship looking for anything like cargo or something like that which could be useful.

He also wants to look for anything regarding the crew of this ship.

No time, Xavier. You can hear the villagers' angry cries approaching...

Then Xavier will make his escape away from the crowd of angry villagers with pitchforks and torches.

At which point you can all meet up back at the chemical plant, having escaped the Magnesians through the fog.

"Well, that was a bit of a waste, but at least we cleared out some of them...though if those Shepherds are around, they'll know we're here soon, I'm sure," Rianna comments.

"We we wouldn't say it was a complete waste," Xavier responds.

"Oh? And what exactly did you find, what with being unable to sneak anywhere?" Rianna asks, a bit nastily. "Of course, we'd've gotten away fine if not for Dak..."

"Oh shut up," Dak growls. "Or would you like to discuss your... 'tactics' before we reached the village?"

"I don't know, shall I throw a rock at you as well?" Rianna snaps in return.
