STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Rescue

Started by Captain REX54 pages

Speaking of the Shepherds, Rianna, they were nowhere to be seen within the village. Which is worrying as you do not know where your enemies are.

Desall wants to go over his strategy for the fight to come, if you three are ready. He also wants to know if you accomplished anything with this morning's adventure.

Stupid Shepherds.

"We found and picked off all of the sentries at the village. We also discovered that there were about 200 warriors there. Someone managed to attract their attention, and we probably killed about a dozen before escaping."

Desall looks uncomfortable.

"Good... I think," he says. "The automated turrets should handle the natives just fine. It is the Shepherds that I am worried about. If they should shut down the defenses, then things may turn in their favor. I want to station mercenaries on top of the complex and at the front entrance... and mercenaries inside, around the defense system. Can't be too careful. I want one of you with each group."

"There were none of those Shepherds there. And so long as you don't expect me to take orders from mercenaries..."

"I think it'd be best if you didn't take orders from them," Desall says, nervously.

So, who wants to go where? There are three locations and three of you (how convenient); the Roof of the chemical factory from which the mercenaries can shoot down at the entrance, the Entrance where you will be assisted by automated repeating blasters, or the Security room that controls the automated blasters and other defensive measures and automated features of the building.

There are roughly one hundred mercenaries, the majority of which are being sent to the Entrance. A small group is being put on the roof, and then an even smaller one is guarding the security room.

Do you guys want to toss the Epireans into the bunch?

Dak will take the Entrance. And yes, Epireans.

Rianna will take the roof, while glaring at Dak because she'd've preferred the entrance.

That leaves Xavier with the center of the building in the security room. Which makes sense, because of his small skill with technical stuff.

Where do you want the Epireans at?

Okay, I'll decide.

4 at the entrance with Dak, one on the roof with Rianna, and one in the security room with Xavier.

The rest can stay on Xavier's ship.

The Epireans that aren't asked to join the fight start yelling angrily in their primitive language. They are getting restless.

Hey we got em let's use them as personal body guards in the fight.

Also Xavier will tell Rianna about the beacon he put on the transporter.

"Yeah we can not sneak unless someone very good at distractions makes it easy for us to do so. Wonder whom those distractions could have been?"

Eh, fine. Bring along all of the Epireans.

"Certainly wasn't me..." Rianna comments, still glaring at Dak. "And hopefully they won't find the beacon, then."

Where do you want the Epireans, then?

"Well you guys didn't give us that much of a distraction, unfortunately if they look for it they will find it."

Keep the same basic split as before, I guess?

The majority will go to the Entrance with Dak then, leaving him with eight total. The remaining two moodily go with Rianna and Xavier, thinking that they will miss the action.

Professor Desall reveals that he has one last trick up his sleave. Part of the mercenary team has brought an anti-personnel craft. It will be stationed at the entrance.

Are there any last minute preparations that you three want to make? Otherwise you will break off to your respective posts...

Uhhh, guess not, really...

Alright then!

-

Dak, you head to the Entrance. The chemical lab is U-shaped, so the entrance is in a sort of courtyard. Desall has made no effort to develop it aside from the anti-personnel turrets that line it.

The mercenaries, seventy of them, are setting up barricades in here, and one pair of mercs even brought a small three-legged walker.

The eight Epireans are the biggest folks here. They want to know what you want them to do when the fight starts.

-

Xavier, you have a small team of fifteen mercenaries (and your Epirean) that are going to patrol the floor on which the defense system controls are located. They will all keep in touch via comlinks, except the Epirean, who will stay with you.

-

Rianna, you have your Epirean and fifteen mercenaries with you. They intend to fire down into the courtyard from the edge of the roof. It is slightly obscured by fog but that doesn't seem to worry them. From up here, you cannot see beyond the chemical factory.

Could Trax and the New Beginning be of any use?

Trax thinks it would be an unnecessary risk to deploy the ship in this. He could not fly low enough to see through the fog and could damage the factory or hit friendlies.

But he will stick with you in the fight if you want him to.
