John McClane VS Martin Riggs

Hardly, I am a HUGE Die Hard fan and I own all the DVD's. I have watched them several times, as I have the LW DVD's.

Here is where you are going wrong:

You are using McClane using a zippo to blow up a Jet as an example, when you or I could easily do the same.

I am talking one on one battles here, and handgun battles.

Here a few examples of what cannot be used in this thread, at least not with any validity...

The zippo blowing up the Jet

The car blowing up the chopper

Strapping C4 to an office chair

The SUV being used on a hot asian chick.....

Thread conditions are "Hand to hand combat, and a gunfight." ONE ON ONE.

McClane regularly gets his ass handed to him HAND TO HAND.

And how would Riggs have never made through LW1 without Murtaugh? This should be entertaining.

1)Why you felt that first part needed itterating is beyond me, and I suspect either of us.

2)You see thats where YOU are going wrong. It is not about whether its a car or a chopper.
McClane uses whatever is at hand.

The evidence points to McClane being the smarter pick.

Besides. This couldnt happen, because the Martin Riggs in McClane's universe is just a character in a movie called Lethal Weapon played by Mel Gibson.

If you want solid evidence then watch Die Hard 2.

If you need me to cite the evidence, RJ, I will, then it'd be further indicative of the fact that a rewatching of the DH movies is in order for you.

What's he gonna do, staple Riggs to a bulletin board? Drown him in a water machine? Paper cut him to death?

See, when Riggs is fighting and he starts losing, he simply digs down and becomes more of a badass. He doesn't run away and come back in a damn SUV.

Look at the screen fights, the one on one fights, THERE is your evidence.

How many has Riggs killed with his bare hands compared to McClane using his bare hands? How many has Riggs killed with his Beretta compared to McClane with a handgun?

Riggs "also gets his ass handed to him regularly" by your definitions.

Proven single handed MASS murderer of enemies... Vs Man who gets beat but cant pull it back without his buddy."

(essential character definition for any cop who is half of a cop "buddys movie" partnership and in this fight the buddy is gone.)

Enemies shot and killed: 15
(1 guy's neck Broke, 1 guy Choked)

Lethal Weapon 2

Total Riggs kills: 13
Enemies shot and killed: 10
(Pieter got the container on him, 1 guy broken neck, guy in car explosion)

Lethal Weapon 3

Riggs shoots all three of his victims.

Lethal Weapon 4

Shoots all but one of his six victims.

Again with the body count bullshit? crylaugh

WEAK.

Die Hard:
McClane kills: 9

One by broken neck in H2H.
Two by c4
Kills Gruber by undoing Holly's watch.
The other five died of lead poisoning.

Die Hard 2:
23 kills for McClane:

1 Beaten to death and head crushed in the conveyor
1 by Iceicle through the brain
15 by Zippo
1 by pushing scaffold over on the guy
1 Wehn John Amos' character got beaten up and thrown in the engine.
19 away from 23 = 4 others shot.

Die Hard 3:

McClane kills: 13

shoots 3 guys in lift, (Fourth killed by McClane H2H making a thug shoot his mate ) Guy killed by McClane's cable, Head/door slam guy, crashed two guys in the pickup truck

thats 5 h2h or non-shooting: 8 shot.

Die Hard 4.0

McClane kills: 11

1 Maggie Q, 1 neck break on stairs, 1 Parkour hamster.

Leaving 8 shot.

SO it looks like Riggs like to just shoot people, by comparison.

Riggs had just dispatched Arjen's enforcer, HAND TO HAND FTW, with a knife through his leg. Arjen shot Riggs from WAY off, if they had faced off in a gun battle.....well, you know. 😆
