I hate Southern rap which would include TI. Trying to cram as many beats into a minute as humanly possible and lyrics that only belong on a dance floor just don't do it for me.Also, you can't hop in a low-low to Dirty South.
t.i.'s got rapping ability. not just for a mainstream artist. he's better than most of the so called underground too.

isn't he looking at up to 30 years?Didn't he like purchase guns/rifles from undercover f.b.i. or something like that? If so he's gonna and he gets convicted he's gonna get more than a year..
Yeah he had one of his boys purchase some guns and silencers and stuff and they got caught/set up so they told them who they were for. TI says that they were for his bodyguards and his protection but why would you need a silencer for protection?
i'm not gonna look up the story cause im lazy but what i remember reading is that he sent his bodygaurd to attempt to buy some relatively heavy arms including 'assualt weapons' (vague term, not necessarily automatic) with silencers. the bodygaurd walked into a trap and rolled up on his boss t.i.
my facts could be off.. i read about this about a year ago when it happened.
on his latest album paper trail he has the song 'ready for whatever' which is in reference to his legal problems. in the song he claims that there are people who want to kill him and he'd rather go to jail then be murdered. though i somehow doubt this will be his official statement in court. i wonder if the prosecution could cite a song as evidence? lol
anyway in regard to sentencing you have to remember he's a celebrity. sounds a little cliche but we'll just see how this plays out...

really?
that makes me feel much better..
i truly think T.I. is a good person as far as taking the rap game to a higher quality.
We all know the south took over after N.Y. (my home state c.o.b."brkyn"😉 kinda just fell off the rap map (for now).
He's as coherent as you can get in the south (at least) and his messages as worthy.
I remember when i heard first about T.I.:
Years ago, my boy, Arnold, in his apartment at a get together was blasting "rubberband man" by T.I.P. (T.I.'s former name back then) And Arnold goes " Wow. My man said: "wild like the Taliban". Which is in T.I. chorus in the song when he says:
"Rubberband man,
wild like the Taliban,
9 in my right, 45 in my other hand,
y'all in trouble man, i'm always in trouble, man,
smoke a couple hundred grand.."
and at the time i was into like the political strife that was going on in the Mideast and bush and all his bs, and i'm like him lemme listen on. even though it had nothing to do with the Mideast he still had listenable flow..ed
I mean i never got any of his CD's but when i would listen to him he never disappointed and always made me say "....Nice"
I now now more of his songs cause my girls into his music. i'm not really into "hip pop" like she, my things underground rap, and she into that too but she's into the radio stuff unlike myself..and she always puts it on in her car or her apartment so that's how i pick it up. And people at work have their their clock radios on that they have at low volume at the office so...
and then his beat are always good to match...
imo, he rips it when he does..

I like him. He's certainly my favorite mainstream artist right now. Lyrically, I think the firearm charges helped him. Gave him substance to talk about.
Seriously...the gun charge gave him substance to talk about? WTF is wrong with you?!?!
The gun charges made him look like even more of a wannabe thug than he already was.
Here's hoping he catches a bigger charge trying to get "street cred" and ends up locked up for a long time away from a mic.
