In fact, he was able to escape Darkseid's grasp. Superman had also been fighting A LOT of Imperiex Probes prior to that fight, so I doubt he was at full power. 😄

Later during that arc, Superman came back and make Darkseid look weak until Lex Luthor's beam thingy broke up their encounter.

"Quarter, Superman. You have blinded me." Sound familiar? 😄

You can't even give a single example where Darkseid flat out bested Superman in a fight. Sorry. ❌

Actually DS injured Superman a few times in Apok Now.
