He's obviously a nut, but I think that he might have pulled this sort of stunt to avoid the death penalty. You'd be surprised at the lengths people will go to in order to escape death.

Then again, he's apparently blind now and he did kill his daughter/wife pretty gruesomely, so maybe I've been watching too many B-grade thrillers lately.

Did he eat their hearts or just cut 'em out?

Interestingly, cannibals disagree. Virtually all cultures that include cannibalism eat people who are really witches or monsters of some sort rather than "human".

I read a book a year or two ago, The Judas Strain by James Rollins. Where Cannibalism cause some disease which makes people immune to another deadly virus.

Just hope we dont have to resort to eating human body parts to cure us from some new disease someday.

Too much evidence, by far, to deny wrong doing. He also admitted to it. Just get him out of the already overcrowded system. No red tape. No institutionalization...unless the professionals say that something can be done to rehab him.

He's crazy, yeah, but is he sane enough to know he did something wrong? Sounds like it. He tattled on himself.

Still, just get rid of him from the system as soon as possible after going through a few evaluations.

Possibly. Serial killers like him fit into the wild and impulsive type- meaning people who commit irrational, uber-violent crimes without intelligent planning- and are generally not very intelligent. Not very intelligent people usually have a lack of foresight. And besides, it's human nature to survive at all costs.
