Let's see how Mr. Riggs measures up against several of Die Hard's finest villains.

5. Mai (Live Free or Die Hard)
6. Thomas Gabriel (Live Free or Die Hard)* although Riggs may want to beat the shit out of him with his bare hands.
Left Targo (Dh 3) out.
If its Riggs at his current age (Or the age he would have been in 2006) especially when fighting Mai, Riggs is dead. (Assuming he survived Stuart)
Hes way too old for that shit.
With firearms though, hed probably just shoot 'em.
A lot of shit gets talked about how much Riggs is a hand to hand killer, but even though he has less kills than McClane, his percentage of "killed by shooting" kills is higher.

Either his wanting arrest/interrogate her up until she kicked her out the window, or being old fashioned was responsible for him not trying to take her out 'til then.
Then when he lost his temper he perfectly combined the desire to get up there quickly before Computer geek was killed or forced to complete his task with desire to get up there quick to kick her arse.
The SUV was the quick way of doing it.
