This match will always appear to me as a huge mismatch. This match is similar to wolverine vs silver surfer, thats how huge the power gap is.

Because Superman is stronger, faster, and more durable than Thanos.
Thanos does well against energy blasters but Superman will ko him very well if Thanos lets him get a hit in. In a comic I say the two will either stalemate or Superman would be shown to be slightly better in the end, but in the beginning Thanos would get the better of Superman since Supes would first underestimate him. Personally, I don't think Thanos can hurt Superman in any way.

Lifting feats aren't everything. Punching feats, wrestling feats, etc. also prove strength too. I'm still not convinced that Thanos can hurt Superman let alone that Thanos can stand up to Superman's barrage. Its easy to imagine he can. Hell, I can imagine Superman hitting Spider-man as hard as he can and Spider-man doesn't flinch. Then Spider-man one shots him into ko. But this is just imagination right?

The Silver Surfer fears Thanos, Thor fears Thanos, The Hulk and Draxx the Destroyer tried to grab Thanos and he back hands the both of them to the ground, so there is a great showing of his power. The Surfer is a being that can travel beyond lightspeed, and that doesn't aid him to much when fighting Thanos. Galactus respects Thanos, the Cosmic compass of the Marvel universe respect and fear Thanos, but Superman will beat him. You people are strange, I really don't get you. A being as powerful as Thanos, and you still say Superman wins. You guys are crazy.
