I think that they're using a bit of Peter's comic book personality in that he always pulls his punches when fighting people of human level durability.

I'd also like to mention though, that it is unlikely Ock can use all four tentacles to hold Ben in the air, as he needs 1/2 tentacle anchored to the ground for support/leverage. [/B]

That's a good point. I hadn't thought of that.

But he only needs one tentacle to attack the eyes leaving at one extra for leverage and the other two to attack.

The Thing need only blink to block that tentacle spike, while he's slow, or at least just human speeds, there is no reason to believe his eye reflexes in regards to reflex blinking is slow.

I see Ock grabbing and entangling the Thing with 2-3 tentacles and the Think tearing them to pieces, one at a time.

He'd have to consciously know EXACTLY where it's going and counter accordingly.

Ben's not even fast enough to mentally register what's going to happen too him.
And if heblinked he'd still get ****ed up because the force of the needle hitting his eye lid would push the eye-lid into his eye without breaking the lid itself, which would **** up his eyes. If you poke someone in the eye hard enough with their eyes closed it'll hurt like ungodly hell and your vision will be ****ed up.

None of his strength feats point to him being able to do that.

Besides, he's not fast enough to grab even one, and get a good hood on it before he's tossed twenty feet. Aytime he grabs one there's two more pulling at him stabbing at him pushing him off balance, if he's in the air he has no leverage an can be tossed around beat on the head ala concussion style etc.

Reflexive blinking, we all have it. I'm willing to bet that his rockish and stoney eyelid is as durable as the rest of his body, which can take a lot.

He rolled a Porsche into a ball and pulled a huge truck, he's got strength, maybe or maybe not sufficient.

I'm pretty sure if he gets a good grip on one, like catches it between his arm and body, then applies enough force, he can break it.
