Ringing the death knell for ANY genre is a bit inane. Video games are a big enough market to essentially keep all genres alive and kicking. There are ebbs and flows, but never really death for a "big" genre.
TBS > RTS btw. I find that RTS games usually devolve into some kind of monotonous formula to maximize success, then repeating that formula ad nauseum until victory. TBS generally involves more strategic nuance, at least in my experience.
Also, reaction times doesn't = strategy skill to me. When RTS games start to favor the quick-trigger FPS type, it's lost its appeal. You can out-strategize someone in football and still lose because you aren't as fast. Doesn't mean the other guy is better at strategy. But it's the difference between that and, say, chess.
