okay, i'll admit it's not absolute, but movie directors try to hard to deviate from the source material and put in tired cliches that don't ever work.
vice and mature did look alright, that is true, but 2 out of like...10 is fail.
they won't get into the k' stuff (i think) cause of the NESTS backstory, iori is already kyo's rival in the plot so to add his clone would be too much due to the limited running time i'd think. possibly in the sequel, but i wouldn't expect a sequel out of this.
Astro boy is not that great. For grown-ups or those that are not 'Kids at heart' that is.
I find it a little similar to Iron Giant to be honest. Gawd I loved that movie.
~ Ron Perlman is acting as Paul Phoenix. Perhaps Paul will get to be bad-ass in this movie. Law's actor looks like a complete retard.

GITS is going to be taken seriously by hollywood though, the people that bought the rights won't be messing it up imo. also akira is on the horizon, leonardo dicaprio has his money invested in it.
