If a stormtrooper's armor could be pierced by arrows in ROTJ (or scout troopers for that matter) then AK-47 bullets could pierce it, that much I'll give.
I know that a Leopard-II's shells can blow an AT-ST's joints (or an AT-PT if they're somehow canon) and then destroy the whole vehicle. Besides, if depleted uranium shells could really do anything against an AT-AT's joints, then a M1A2, or any other decent main battle tank, being able to run circles around an AT-AT, can hit joints by the sides of an AT-AT. Head-on attacks on AT-ATs are then completely suicidal for modern-day world tank commanders, but how thick is an AT-AT's armor compared to a Leopard-II?

Exactly. A tank or two could probably take out an AT-ST, although I HIGHLY doubt that tank rounds could damage an AT-AT.

Wow that is WAY too big for me to read through, though I did get the bit about the arrows.
However, judging from what I did read, the author of that page was forming his own opinion based on what he saw from the OT. Unfortunately, the EU text which makes mention of a prosthetic droid arm hurling a spear in to stormtrooper armor, and "nicking" it, overrules that guy's interpretations. Unless of course that guy is George Lucas.

1. I never see arrows penetrating stormtrooper armor, in fact i remember them bouncing off in all the scenes. Plus the whole 'Ewoks defeating the Empire' is incorrect, the Ewoks are in retreat until Chewbacca jacks that stormtroopers vehicle.
2. The stromtrooper armour doesn't stop lasers, but there is no evidence to say that they are not bulletproof.
3. The majority of the Empire loses arguement are based on PIS
The empire would win, if thier troops were strategically placed on arrival.

1. So the imperials in all their AT-STs lost because ONE of their AT-STs got hickjacked? Sure, they got ambushed/didn't know, but they should have still won. Ewoks in retreat? They were winning until the AT-STs arrive. Then after the Chewie thing they rallied and started destroying the AT-STs with LOGS
2. Even so, if rocks could knock them down/hurt them, then the concussive force of a bullet could do quite a bit.
3. No. The stormtroopers in Endor were specifically mentioned as the Imperial army's best troops. They wouldn't say that if they intended for the stormtroopers to act weaker than normal.
