No, Quasar didn't get his bands back until he destroyed Maelstrom. It took increbile concentration during this battle to keep them from destroying Maelstrom and when Quasar messed with his mind he died.

Death is Oblivion's opposite.

Eternity and Death are opposites.

Infinity and Oblivion are opposites.

Those are primary cornerstones that make up Marvel's reality.
(Reality being - Time-Life/Space/Absense of life/Nothingness.

Entropy is simply the manifestation of Eternity's natural death/re-birth.

Lord Chaos and Master Order are the primary fundamental concepts
that balance the metaphysical nature of reality.

Galactus is the force that holds all Realty (Time/Space) together with his existence.

Abraxas is the manifestation of Time/Space collapsing
due to Galactus returning to his natural state ("dying" ... sorta)

Oh, and Genis at his peak annihilates Maelstrom,
Maelstrom was no where near the IG btw,
heck Quasar handled him while empowered by Infinity,
and both Eternity/Infinity were nothing to the IG.

Really, what was that exactly?

I have the issue here in front of me,
elaborate on what you mean.

All I see/read is Quasar stalemating Maelstrom,
while simultaneously Infinity stalemates Oblivion,
then Quasar outwits Maelstrom and stomps.

That's it.

It was because he was a greater anamoly than Maelstrom was. He states that the new costume Origin gave Quasar caused him to become an even greater anamoly. The only reason Maelstrom was capable of anything in that story was because he defeated and became anamoly.
