One thing that might help is to look at the high-end abilities of some of the characters controversy often arises about and have some sort of official stance as to what their high-end feats are for debate purposes. But of course, if there are no consequences for ignoring those feats, people will ignore them.

Sure we can all use the 'ignore' button but that's a temporary solution. You end up with those not adhering to the rules dominating the place.

This forum has its fair share of Marvel and DC extremists. The Marvel fans seem to think that rather plain and unimpressive events are THE SHIZNIT!! And DC fans often enjoy interpreting scans and feats to death, trying to bring out stuff that never actually occurred.

I'd personally prefer to just see the rules enforced here. The backbiting, ignoring feats and so on eliminated by way of banning the people that persist in doing it. But then we'd basically be CBR. I think the problem here is that the versus forum has so much traffic and most of the mods are not interested in policing it. Violations go on and on. Threads that are curbstomps by the rules go a dozen pages and that's a dozen pages of ignoring feats, etc.

Its just a nuisance to the mods because comic books are not the main point of the forums as they are on some sets of forums.

I would personally prefer a forum that is a bit more open in terms of 'admissability' in terms of evidence than what CBR is. But I'd also like one that is a bit more civil. The truth is that a child will do as much as he sees he can get away with and we tend to be child-like ourselves when we see we can be. I see a lot of people using this forum to vent their chauvinism and resentments. I suppose that is the appeal for them.

They can't shut this forum down, it's one of the most active forums on here. If it bothers some mods like Peach, then the should give the modding job to someone else and let them handle all versus related problems. Seems a simple solution to me.
