Yes, we do. In fact we have at several groups of idiots. The moderators who hark back to the 'Star Wars' forum days of KMC and are all about a forum being sort of girly. Peach with her sigs and off topic stuff People who need 'efriends'.

Then we have the other kinds of Mods who aspired to be Mods for 'epower', that's not all of them but some fall into that category. Some Mods are much sadder than this group.

Then we have the members, have you ever looked at most of the people you debate with anywhere on the web?

Hell, the socks aren't even fun to catch. TricksterRabbi? Endrict dull? Badahumpsdogs? It's not even a challenge. It's great how that is also the response to the impending closing of the Comic Vs., that people respond by worsening the problem. Reverse psychology attempt?

I went thru a time when a few posters didn't like me and they got cussed the **** out. The lead Admin is a very good friend and knows comics

Listen to what you just said. If you used his speed all the time, he'd be undefeated or at least seldom lose. In other words, that's what would happen if the writer didn't ignore his established abilities to make a fight against a lesser powered character more interesting. In other words, PIS. At times, in order to make a fight more interesting, a writer will play down the abilities of a higher powered character who fights suddenly far below his abilities. That's called PIS. Here characters are presumed to fight to their full abilities within character. That's just about a quote from the forum rules. What a lot of people like to do is use that "within character" thing to mean 'will fight way below his abilities no matter what the rules say.' So Superman suddenly forgets he has superspeed or decides his strength is a fourth of what it was at his best showing.

By debating that way, it just allows anyone to claim any character they like better will win by putting that character at his best or maybe even beyond his best against a weaker version of the other character. The only way to prevent that bias is by having all characters operate at their best.

If this place did close I thought I would probably have no choice but to go with CBR. At least they enforce the rules and don't allow people to ignore high-end feats as long as those feats are repeated enough to not be one-offs. But as they are a bit overzealous in my opinion, ComiXtreme looks like a decent place. But I think CBR just has a setup that allows the versus forum mods to immediately take action and they are willing to take action without dragging things out.

For me, one of the problems here is that more often than not, there is no debate. For example, a Superman vs. Hulk thread tends to look like this:
Superman
Hulk
Superman
Hulk
Superman for the win
Hulk for the win

From what I've seen of ComiXtreme, they also kind of play down the high-end feats in favor of the more average showings in fights. But they still tend to actually debate plus they don't have a set of rules stating that characters fight at their best.

I love how certain mods come in here, and talk about how they don't like having their performance as a mod talked about when they barely are here...

Oh well I still say we should get a group together and at least talk about it but no one has decided to do that. Looks like the Vs section is closing. Oh well it was fun while it lasted. I'm gonna miss you guys.

That's what should be used to describe this situation. What I don't get though, is why are the other moderators going "OH NOEZ I CAN'T STAND IT" dramma queens on us ? It an internet forum for f*ck's sake, if you can't handle this kind of stuff, which in case you didn't know happens on other forums aswell, you should just step down and let somebody who can.

Also, good to know that socking and reporting brings a forum closer to being shut down. Even if it has the activity this one has.

Agreed mate. We are talking about comic book characters, not real life events. People who report others, for just basically voicing their opinion, really need to get a grip.

It's funny that two of the global mod's who posted in other thread are 2 of the most arrogant and ignorant mod's on kmc.

It's clear that a lot of people love and enjoy debating on kmc and put a lot of hard work/time/effort into their debates, so just closing it down is cowardly.

-Some mods/globals should mind their own business and let the people who look after this forum do their jobs.

-Stricter rules should be set about socks and trolls. Even for members that are active now that make them should be banned for doing so.

-Mods, admins and globals that are not active enough should be replaced with ones that are. Tron hasnt been here like over a year and WD is gone for a while. Raz is never here, this site has other issues besides this forum.

-Great that Digi is here, but I still think Bada and PR should be made into globals to help control this forum better, this way they dont have to wait 5 years for someone to get banned. Or globals shouldnt be so soft on the banning rules.

Indeed. On top of being the source for the majority of KMC's behavioral issues (as Digi noted), it is also the source of the most outspoken critics of the moderating staff. And by critics I mean those who just do not think the rules should apply to them because they are, apparently, integral members of the section. It puts great strain on our jobs keeping an enjoyable discussion atmosphere on KMC when members are attempting to stage a posters' rebellion on a message board where they really don't have much say.

Is it a crime to criticize those who we feel are not going a good job of managing? People do it in real life all the time, we just get the luxury of doing it through a computer screen, and well you get to see it. Can't ever say people are speaking behind your back here unless its on PM. But still, when has FREE SPEECH within the rules of KMC ever been wrong? Furthermore, we have no say because as I have been noting you mods are nothing more than an elitist group that recruit only those that fit your mold.

With that said, I believe the process should be a little more democratic. For instance, you mods make a list of say 3-4 posters. And we can tell you our opinions of those, you take those into consideration, and then make them mods. It gives the people a voice. Which I think needs to be done, as I have been noting with the Tron situation, being that he is not here at all. We need a new mod, a new leader that the people respect.

Furthermore, there are more socks coming from the Comic Vs., either of banned members or unfriendly pranks, than I have in my sock drawer. It is ridiculous that you cannot civilly debate something that isn't even a serious matter. I could understand if this was the Political Debate forum that we attempted here on KMC... but that forum should have been proof enough that debating on this site has not worked well...

I have been here for about 3 or 4 years, and the VS section was what brought me here. The debating is not the problem, nor is it our tendency to make fun of eachother. The problem is that you mods did not do your jobs (and I mean no offense to Bada/Raoul, but more to the likes of Tron/Paola, and only because they were not around. If they had been, I'm sure this would have not been a problem) and we had so many socks running around that now sad to say but KMC see's a sock in every single new poster that comes around. I blame that on you, the mods. On Raz because he is the head. Allowing them to come back OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER again was not our problem, but we dealt with it the best we could. The paranoia that we have, and the fact that we call everyone a sock is a direct result of your failure to do your job properly.

So again, the forum being shut down? Direct result of you not being able to moderate, to do the job you were given. It is alot easier to complain about the behavior of others than to do your job isnt it?

In case you don't know it, there are plenty of versus forums and the ones that want to control the problem seem to be able to do it. So its not like this is the only game in town. It seems really that what you are irritated about isn't the trolls and the people who won't follow the rules. The people you are mad at is the people who hit the report button. Granted some do it frivilously but some do it on the off-chance that people might have to argue by some system of rules.

Its sort of like being at work and bringing to the attention of a supervisor that you are doing all the work while two other people are just standing around. What happens? The supervisor gets mad at you instead of at the people not following the rules because you reported it so you're the reason he now he has to get off his @$$ and do something about it.

Then again, a supervisor is getting paid to do the job and should do it. You're not getting paid to do it. So if you really don't want to do the job of moderating a versus forum, than maybe you should not bother OR give it over to people that want to do it or close it.

As for worsening the problem, how many decent debaters have left already because of the lack of moderation as the trolling and refusing to argue by feats goes on and on? As I said, there are plenty of versus forums that are good. This is just one of them and its not the best one, largely because of the lack of moderation to begin with and the whining not about those who won't argue by the rules but about anybody who reports it.

So, us the members that post on your guys damn forum doesnt have a say? well, if it wasnt for us that post....you guys wont have a forum to control. Did you ever think about that? You guys as a globals/mod should learn to respect people and do your jobs right instead of being a bunch of power hungry control freaks.

Its not our fault that you guys dont know how to control this forum because you guys dont know crap about comics. Leave it to the experts and stay out of it. You shouldnt get Chef to fix a engine.
