Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Im going to cancel my preorder.
I am sick of IW shafting pc players.

They say equal treatment but first off the game is a campy port and we only get the regular version.
And whatever questions the pc community has, nobody from IW even bothered to answer

Just look at the rumored delay, it took 3 friggin weeks just to get an answer, a company like DICE and BIOWARE would have squashed any rumors under 24 hours.

IW blatantly ignored the pc community, dumbed down the pc version to a console version and charging us extra$$$.
$60(70 here) is not worth MW2 with crappy online MP system and having only SP to play.

Good luck trying to even play in a server with MW2 for those of you buying.

I'm not boycotting the game to piss of infinity tard, im boycotting it because paying 60-70 bucks for a severely dumbed down game is not worth it.

The cold and hard truth is that all IW and Actitard only care for $$$ and you can thank mr bobby kotick for that and care nothing for their fans unlike bioware and DICE(which due to this issue promised pc and console players dedicated servers).

Please boycotting it so we can have our game the proper way and not a console version.

I don't care about dedicated servers.

Good luck trying to play MP then, with the failure of OPF2 and MOHA due to lack of dedicated servers.

Which is what 99% of the PC players also think, which is why this silly "boycotting" people are doing won't help a bit.

O really? More like 70% DO care about dedicated servers.

If it is no issue like your trying to say, why did DICE sympathize with the pc gamers and promised us dedicated servers?

Do you know how much of a failure MOHA, OPF2 and wolfenstein due to no dedicated servers on the online MP?

Do you have any idea about what your talking about?

I'm really hoping this game will be a success - MW1 was a spectacular game (albeit a bit boring after awhile) but had a very great multiplayer system. While I'm looking for change (in the sense of level design, the maps were WAY to small to feel like you were actually in big combat) I really enjoyed the multiplayer. Ranking up and leveling up to aquire new weapons and abilities made it worth playing!

However, WaW was a complete flop, and I was really bored with the game after about a week - so they'll need to definatley improve on this. So far so good though, lots of new weapons (STEYR AUG<333) and an abundance of new addons (heartbeat sensor!) and perks... and you can now have 2 addons at once! (Finally, red-dot and silencer).

Seems like a fantastic game let's just hope Infinity Ward has been listening and watching and learning this past year and really come out with one of the best Modern shooters. BF:Bad Company II looks great so there'll be some competition, not to mention the fact that Bad Company II has a much better open warfare multiplayer. Should be interesting to see what happens, I for one can't wait!

The reason why they are charging more its prob to cover the cost of the new server.

I actually believe is that with IWnet in control, we would be force to pay for any dlc that is released and purchasing the dlc is a must to continue playing online.

Actitard is all about $$$.

My friends are pirating this game but i am not, i will wait till mass effect 2 and bad company 2 comes out, i will exchange my money to a real company that respects it fans like bioware and DICE.

@ChakraStrings

Sorry to burst your bubble but if your a pc player your better off playing SP or not getting the game due to no dedicated servers which destroyed MOHA, OPF2 and wolfensteins multtiplayer.

However i disagree with your comment about W@W multiplayer but my opinion was that i liked it better than COD4, the battles actually felt massive, the realism and sound are much better too.

WaW isn't exactly a flop because there are still a substantial amount of people playing it(though COD4 has much more people).

I actually was hyping up so bad to this game until IW's shitting on PC playersand the no dedicated server issue.

Without it i am not going to even get into a host let alone play the game.

I'll be buying it for my PS3 opening day. I've never been a PC gamer in the slightest.

holy mother****!

holy shit. 😐

BTW that link above that I just provided has big big single player spoilers!

i bet there was a lot of debate as to whether they should include that in the game. There will be uproar foshure!! Wait till FOXNEWS gets a hold of it.

Believe it or not, not everyone cares about MP.

Or maybe it's because those games aren't good.

Lack of dedicated servers works fine on consoles, no reason it can't work on PC's.

The only thing a lack of dedicated servers inherently affects is custom map making and maybe light mods, but 99% of custom maps/mods are crap anyways. That's why Counterstrike is so crap now, it's difficult to find a game without a stupid gimmick map or idiotic mod, actually hard to just play the normal game. Glad I won't have to deal with such BS in MW2.

I think no dedicated servers is a kick in the teeth.

I do agree that matchmaking removes some problems that dedicated servers had but it also removes the community aspect that makes dedicated servers great.

I don't understand why IW doesn't release a matchmaking way of getting online and dedicated servers also.

Losing the community aspect is a fair point, but for games as big as this there usually isn't much of a real community, so I don't think that will be a very big deal.

Your wrong about the community part, i'll get back to you about why no dedicated servers = fail later.

First off the COD4 pc communiy is large and is a real community with clans and people always going to a server they like because it feels like a "home" to them.

They hate match making because they don't want to get dumped into a server which would be filled with noobs and obnoxious people throwing racial slurs(which happens alot in xbox match making), they want to play with their friends or the community they formed.

If the host hosting the game happens to be downloading stuff in the background or has a crappy connection/shity hardware, everyone that was forced into that host due to IWnet matchmaking will suffer and unable to play the game which WILL be the case for many people as quite a number of players reside outside the US(myself included, that means i cant play MP even if i wanted to).

If it isn't a real community like you said it is why are so many clans and communities so unhappy about the issue? Why are there clans and large amounts of people boycotting the game? Hell even the ps3 fans right now are creating petitions and are displeased with IW's treatment of both the pc and ps3 community

On the PC side, there can be.

I'm part of a TF2 gaming community and they were trying to increase members and MW2 was a game that they were trying to use to gain more members. It seriously hurt the our chances to gain a different crowd of people because matchmaking effectively takes that out.

I understand why IW wanted to do it but the company became big because of PC gamers and dedicated server communities. It's a kind of big thing for some people. I enjoy playing TF2 with a bunch of people I play casually with. I'm not saying their my friends or anything but it's a sense of community that creates a much better experience.

The problems they listed on why they went with matchmaking was a bit problematic. One reason was because they thought people did not understand how to find a good game and it took awhile to find a game with a good ping.

That's complete shit. I never had trouble finding a game and if I did find a game troublesome, there are thousands of servers out there and you can quickly join up with another. With matchmaking, if the game is lagged, your ****ed, you have to go through the matchmaking service again and if it's like Uncharted 2, or Halo 3, its a couple of minutes before you get to play. Better control on dedicated servers. Those servers are administrated by actual people who care about who plays on the server. If they didn't, then, well, their server population decreases significantly.

I could go on about dedicated servers but in the end, I don't really think dedicated servers being a huge problem for people and the company and I don't understand why IW is not allowing both.
