"I will do that." Con says bowing his head to continue "And thank you for saving me. I overestimated my abilities...again"

Do I need much healing?

The stinging in your leg is a bacta patch that Clarion has pressed to the wound, and the headache is fading.

"You have been out for a day, by the way," Clarion tells you.

"Ah, I should get on my way then."

"Perhaps," Clarion says. "I have rented this room indefinitely. You can use it as a base of operations and living quarters. Also..."

She produces from her robes a small device. It is the communication gizmo that you lifted from the Syndicate soldier you interrogated.

"Keep this in mind."

She sets it down on the dresser before stepping out and closing the door behind her.

Con watches Clarion. An old friend of his master wanted to help him. Maybe he hadn't strayed too far from his teachings. Thinking of the past in the Order he gets up to take the device, trying to turn it on. He should have thought of using it, how mindless of him, he thought..

The device has not received any recent commands, but it is still receiving signal.

Can I find out where that signal comes from, with Fix It perhaps? I got 1 on it (new rules)

It would require opening up the device. Want to give it a go?

Yeah, I'll try, not like I can't go out and beat the next thug for his.

NOTE- From this point on, the new system rules are in effect.

Con has a Fix-It pool of 5, and so rolls five dice. He pulls off two successes... not quite enough to discern anything about the signal at all, but enough to learn more about the device. There is a chip installed that deletes the history of received messages after five standard minutes.

You could figure out where the signal is coming from, but it will take time. Right now, Con should keep all options open. The communicator will be an on-going project.

Did my legality change because of being assigned on this project by Clarion?

Either way, I will go to the Market once more.

Clarion too is working outside of jurisdiction. As a Master she garners respect wherever she goes, but she lacks the legal power to get things done. She still wants to collect evidence against the Syndicate in a legalized manner, of course.

A trek to the marketplace it is, then. Your room at the inn is not far from it, and indeed you are standing outside of the produce market once more. Repairs are being made- by Syndicate workers, of course- but there are still blastmarks and exploded fruit everywhere.

Is that woman that was there last time here again?

She is not outside. Her hovering chair was blown to tiny pieces.

I guess I should go in then. First I will peak in though, don't want to be surrounded by the whole Syndicate

The produce market is empty except for that little old woman, sitting behind the counter. She does not move when you peak in, nor does she respond to your entry.

Con walks up to her and says "I am sure you recall me, I think we need to talk."

The old woman moistens her near-toothless mouse.

"Yes, of course," she says. "You wanted to buy the produce market, so to speak."

"Yeah, it didn't turn out that well for me. Do you know where I can find the Malik, I got business with him"

"Nobody meets the Malik unless the Malik wants to meet them," says the old woman. "Were you interested in being recruited or not?"
