STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Descent

Started by Bardock4235 pages

Con watches the speeder accelerating away from him and realizes that he has to act fast if he doesn't want to let his chance to finally finish his three year long mission slip away, and before they can even drive a few feet he concentratees his power in the force and speeds through the air on to of the moving vehicle, where he extends his lightsabre over his head for just a moment which seems to go on forever only to bring it down with enormous force onto one of the thugs heads inside. Blur, Jump, Carnival of Carnage

The landspeeder is covered, so when Con lands on the hood, he cannot see any of the thugs within. He then stabilizes himself as the speeder roars off and away from the burning produce market, and can retrieve his blaster with the Force at this time.

However, they really want to see him. Two pop out of the back doors of the speeder, and one blasts out the front window and raises himself through it. All three are poised to fire at the Jedi on the roof of their vehicle.

Defense, Con? You can now attack the visible thugs.

Con raises his sabre in defense, he was always very good at detecting and deflecting lasers with his sabre, and didn't worry too much about his attackers. Master Reflection

In the short moment the attackers need to focus their next blast, Con flings himself towards the roof over the drivers seat and pushes his sabre down in an attempt to stop the car

Con patiently waits for the shooters to take their shots... and they all miss badly, giving Con the opportunity to reflect back. He solidly smacks a shot back into the forward gunner and then casually sends two more back at the rear. The forward gunner slumps over on the hood of the car, and the two in the rear fall out of the vehicle and tumble.

However, the two inside the car catch Con offguard by firing through the roof, which takes away from his Defense by 2. Bolts start spouting from tiny holes that they leave behind, zipping up past Con. He takes 8 damage from a near hit.

Then Con steps towards the front of the car and drives his lightsaber through the roof in an attempt to kill the driver as the speeder zips along down the street. Con makes a Sense roll to locate the driver, then puts the tip of his lightsaber right into the driver's skull. One of the thugs dives and catches the steering wheel.

This is when the second landspeeder pulls alongside. A bold thug is leaning out the side of the car, toting a rocket launcher that he has aimed at the other landspeeder that you stand on!

Sensing the immediate danger Con launches himself out of the aim of the Rocket launcher and onto the speeder next to the heavily armed thug, who he attacks with a swift swing of his blade.

Not wanting to be blown to tiny pieces, Con flips forward and over the rocket as it zips by below him. The ringleader rolls a 15 and the rocket hits the side of the landspeeder. The repulsorlift fails and it pitches forward, tumbling down the street before being consumed by flame.

Con gets a quarter of the damage (7 points), having been seared by the flames. He is poised to strike the Ringleader when his danger sense flares up to gunshots from below!

Con needs to defend himself from the blasterfire.

Con Gordo swirls around to deflect the incoming fire with his energy blade, only to continue in his turn and bring down the sword tothe Ringleaders face.

Any particular power being used for this?

Master Reflection. Can I do a snapped attack on the Ringleader? If so, I will.

With the thugs shooting through the roof, Con is at a disadvantage again. As bolts sprout from the metal top of the hovercar, Con makes a Force roll to detect his targets, and promptly smacks a single bolt back through the roof, killing his target. The other bolts he deflects just fizzle against the armored skin.

Con takes damage from other attacks, and comes under fire again.

Con is still on the defensive, but his pool refreshed (except for the point he just used to Master Reflect.)

I'll use Defensive Jump, and if it is my turn I'll use a Combination against the Ringleader

The unpredictable use of acrobatics in such a small space plays in your favor, Con. You dance about the roof of the landspeeder, only taking light damage for your efforts.

Ringleader is struggling to put away the rocket launcher and reach for his pistol, but you are on top of him in an instant. Rolling 11 and 14 on your Combination, with the Carnival of Carnage bonuses, you sever both of his arms and he falls out of the fast-moving vehicle with a Wilhelm scream.

The thugs will fire again, now determined to kill you before you kill them.

I will use Master Reflection, followed by a regular attack on them.

The Master Reflection does not go off well; two of the thugs miss with 14's, but that means Con has a skill of 2 when reflecting the shots back. Predictably, the reflections miss. The other two thugs hit for a combined 13 damage, not something Con needs right now. A bolt burns his leg and he is wounded for a -1 penalty.

However, he then sinks his lightsaber through the roof and kills a thug.

Under attack again! Con is nearly out of Force pool.

I will use a Master Reflection again with the last three force points then take a snapped attack on one of the thugss

Once more, Con patiently times his deflections and senses his target... the first gunner misses badly and Con reflects it before it even goes through the roof, killing its firer. The second thug manages to shoot Con solidly in the leg for 8 damage, putting Con on a -2 penalty. It does not throw off his determined focus, and he reflects back against the final shooter, the bolt breaking through a weakened portion of the roof and striking the thug.

And then, with one fell swoop, Con slices his lightsaber through the roof, and the firing stops completely.

That just leaves the driver of the car... who seems to have thrown himself out the side of the vehicle and left the hovercar careening towards a wall. Troubling.

Can I usse Bash or Lift to hit the break? If so, I will do that, otherwise I will jump of the car and try to land more or less gracefully.

Unfortunately, Con is out of Force points. Without them and with his wound penalty, Con tries to toss himself clear of the hovercar. He manages to do so by making a decent acrobatics roll, but then hits the ground hard and rolls to a stop, his lightsaber skittering out of his grip. Con takes damage from this.

The speeder explodes violently upon impact, partially collapsing the building it strikes and setting it aflame almost immediately. The concussion is enough to send Con back the other way and pushes him towards unconsciousness...

As he fades, he glimpses one last image; a hooded figure walking towards him and standing above him, features unseen.

Oh please be a Jedi not an evil Syndicate overloard.

The figure reaches down and begins dragging you away from the burning wreckage of the landspeeder and the building it has obliterated, but it cannot hold Con's attention and he passes out.

You awake, lying down, with a throbbing headache and a stinging pain in your leg.
