"Feel free to return, at some point," Joon says. "Though we cannot operate together, I offer my friendship to you, Jedi. Good luck. Or, may the Force be with you, I guess the saying goes."
Joon has Vear and his guards escort you out of the building. Because Joon has extended his hand in friendship, there is no need for the guards to conceal his location from you, and you find yourself at the front of a great government complex, towards the center of the city.
"I leave you here," Vear says. "Don't get yourself killed, Con. You're too young to toss your life away for some old piece of junk."
"Thank you, Vear, I do not plan to die just yet"
I assume I got my weapons back?
I guess it doesn't matter much where I go now, perhaps back to the bar waiting for some Syndicate guys to pick me up or try to kill me. Actually, perhaps I could search out one of their troops and try to find out some information from them before blindly going in.
You did.
What course of action will you be taking, then? Waiting around to be attacked is not what you had in mind. There has to be somewhere that you can find the Syndicate... but the soldiers are on the right track. If it is so secretive, how do these guys get recruited? There are hundreds of them in this city alone.
If he's alone I'd like to walk up to him casually, perhaps as if I have a question and if it is possible I'd like to grab his gun, otherwise I will draw my own, and force push him into a quiet ally when no one is looking, then I'd threaten him with the gun, and use intimidation (11) to get him to answer questions.
"How did you get recruited to the Syndicate", "Where do you meet", "Where's the Headquarter", "Where is the Malik", etc.
If that's possible anyways, otherwise I'd also go so far to shoot him in the leg.
Con has certainly gotten more aggressive since the war.
Needing to catch the Syndicate soldier offguard, Con walks up to him casually. The streets are empty at this time of night, but the soldier is also tired and not paying attention. In any case, Con rolls an 18 on his Intrusion roll and swiftly yanks the guard's pistol from its holster and presses it into his side.
He immediately tries to take it back, but Con throws up a hand and propels the soldier into a nearby alley. The man pulls himself up and finds the gun in his face again.
And then Con rolls a perfect 20 on his Intimidation check.
"Please, don't shoot me!" he whines. "I'm just a night sentry! I'll tell you whatever you want!"
The first piece of information is the most satisfying that you receive. He gives you the location of a recruitment office downtown. However, it hides behind a front; to the public, it appears to be a produce market. Kadolanti's, it is called. He is reluctant to give you more than that, like how to get past the front and into the office...
As for meeting up and receiving orders, the soldier produces a small cylindrical communication device with a screen. Apparently they DON'T meet up, and any orders are sent as text to them.
He tells you that to get into the office for recruitment, you have to pick up the orange-colored fruit, toss it up and down a few times, and comment to the vendor that you would like to make him an offer. Then you must mention that Zirdus sent you to buy the produce market.
Once you get what you need, you crack him over the head with his own pistol, then drop it and leave him in the alley.
The produce market will not be open until daybreak, and Con needs rest. Any plans for that?
The life of the homeless may be necessary for Con's first night on Luon, not having the funds to afford a room. This far into the city you are unable to find any parks, and so you hunker down in an alleyway and nod off, thinking about Master Raskae and the Votive of Light...
-
The Votive of Light is just before you. You cannot touch it, it is just out of reach. But so close! You almost have it back! Your index finger brushes its warm surface, brushing off some dust...
Then the soldiers arrive, some wearing the uniform of the Syndicate, others wearing the black commando garb of Joon's guards. Your immediate response is to hack down a few indiscriminately, fight through them so you can get to their leader, a decrepit old man waving a blaster at you.
"Stay back!" he warns. And suddenly he is no longer wrinkled and angry, but youthful and afraid, the face of Joon.
Then there is a hand on your shoulder, that of Master Raskae, and lightsabers ignite around you.
"What are you doing, Con?" he asks, sadly.
-
It is light out when Con jerks awake, slumped over in the alleyway.
A Syndicate soldier stands over you.
"Are you okay?" he asks.
For a second Con is confused and stunned by his dream, what does it mean, is he doing something wrong? But then he regains his wits and quickly responds to the soldier "Yeah, I'm fine, just a bit out of money at the moment. I guess I will move on, friend," he says and gets up to leave for the market. He has some things to consider on the way, the dream had startled him.
