Oh shit, so it goes hard on the pure survival? I like it, it's like playing Fallout in hardcore mode
Pretty much, there's a bunch of new monsters, but all the Dark Sun versions of established D&D races/monsters are amped up for maximum killing potential.
eg Halflings are vicious little cannibals in DS, to give you an idea
Originally posted by SurturTrue Neutral gets nowhere imo. It should be reserved for animals (who have no concept of morality) or supernatural creatures beyond the boundaries of morality. No humanoid could be True Neutral. Neutral territories are difficult to figure out though, I think players should definitely consider strongly when choosing an alignment. My Lawful Evil character in this campaign actually does less damaging actions than my fellow Chaotic Neutrals, who are more prone to crazy actions that could lead to situations where someone might have to enact 'Evil' actions.
Am I the only one who has had arguments with friends over things like alignments? The neutral ones especially lol. In terms of what exactly they would entail, especially true neutral.
Originally posted by RobtardI love it. Might have to draw on that for certain territories in my upcoming homebrew, albeit a less extreme interpretation of it

Exactly, no human/elf/whatever can be true neutral, but I've known people who tried it. But you are always going to lean more towards either evil or good.
You ever watch Spoony's Counter Monkey videos?

Yeah, I think because magic is destroying the land or something.
Magic in Dark Sun is powered from a life-force (plant, animal, spirit), magic is the reason why the once vibrant planet went from lush forest and vast oceans to pretty much looking like Dune (though some green areas still exist here adn there).

Yeah, and the people in charge of the various cities are like half dragons or they want to turn into dragons. Dragons are involved in some way lol.
Originally posted by SurturI like Chaotic and Lawful Neutral classes, characters bound purely by code or self-gain. But yeah, even then they're usually more predisposed to either Good or Evil.

I haven't seen them though, I assume they're worth watching?
I've mostly watched stuff by Colville, who's already taught me a bunch about DM'ing

It's just him sharing some of the better stories from some of his gaming sessions. Though sometimes he will just discuss aspects of D&D. There is a long video about Thieves World too. And Shadowrun.
