One thing I wish I had done before starting a family actually. Buying a used but nice Toyota Land Cruiser, setting it up for overlanding and driving from Ca. all the way down to Tierra del Fuego. Though there are some parts where you need to arrange having the car on a boat as they're virtually impassable and/or not worth driving around.

i watch this youtube called hasta alaska it was about this guy then eventually couple travelling from chile to alaska, only recently they reached and explored alaska, it took 5 years and their vw bus broke down countless times. then there was a bunch of visa problems going to alaska. it was a good watch tho.

I'll check that out, I like that sort of reading/viewing.
There was this blog of a young Belgium couple who sold everything they had, bought a Land Cruiser and traveled all over the Congo and some other parts of Africa. Looked amazing.
