I'm talking about all the things wrestlers are known to abuse. One is booze, which is legal. This is not about legalities, but the effect this shit has. Booze abuse, pain pills(legally prescribed and illegally bought) are used, a lot. Certain steroids they are given prescriptions for are used, a lot.Coke+booze+pain kills is a deadly combo. The wrestlers who used to abuse steroids are at an even greater risk of dying.
You can say they have bigger money and better contracts. All true, and yet they still have schedules that put other sports schedules to shame. And younger guys practically kill themselves in order to GET those big contracts.
I'm a lifelong wrestling fan and I'm always at odds with that fandom when I read/hear about how these men and women end up. With that said, the present generation HAS learned. Just look at them PHYSICALLY. They are not comic book heroes and mythic warriors, they look like normal athletes in the 210-230lb range for the most part.
Lets take a look at the MONSTERS of the 80's and 90's and their fate.
Scott Steiner- Alive and well in his 50's. Never did illicit drugs but did use "Testosterone".
Lex Luger- A tragic story as the years of steroid abuse has ravaged him. Though he never abused illegal drugs. He is alive and in his 50's.
Barbarian- 50's and still a monster. Never used illicit drugs.
Nikita Koloff- 50's and is now a Pastor. Never used illicit drugs.
The list goes on and on.

Steroids, I repeat: steroids. That was the big thing they wanted to get out of wrestling. Legal drugs, like pain pills, get abused, a lot, and mixed with other drugs. I don't see why this is hard to get.Prepare yourself for this reality if you ever wanna make it big.
