I mostly just find it funny that someone can dig on socialist principles and big up capitalism so much when in a purely capitalist society, they'd be left to die due to their inherent uselessness (physical disability) to capitalism as a social structure.
Capitalism gives no safety net to the disabled, as they serve no function within its framework; a truly capitalist society would have no disability benefits, no medical care for the disabled, etc. as those ideas all stem from socialist thinking, particularly the idea that all people deserve an equal quality of life, something that capitalism scoffs at, due to its oversimplified 'Darwinian' survival-of-the-fittest outlook on existence.
Socialism and capitalism are both ridiculously (and dangerously) flawed when looked at as pure social frameworks, and one without the other will ultimately result in a dystopia of similar degrees of awfulness (albeit in different ways). I'm pretty much entirely convinced these days that socialism and capitalism need to be more effectively fused, so as to create a culture where you can achieve your highest potential and have that safety net if ill health or even just plain bad luck ruins your well-laid plans. The ideas compliment each other brilliantly, and more people need to realise that before arbitrarily picking a 'side'.

Neat, but we have pieces of shit in this country who think pure socialism works. Who think places like Denmark are purely socialist.
These people need to be made fun of and shamed. Nobody acts like capitalism is perfect, but these shitheads ignore the pitfalls of pure socialism.
Mostly because they aren't very bright. Which is weird, because they claim to be well educated.

I have a lot of friends who splurge over socialism and even ****ing communism and I can never be bothered opening a discussion with them, because they're so convinced that capitalism the source of all of their problems that they won't hear a word otherwise.

I generally quite like how Denmark runs itself – it's as good (and flawed) as anywhere else right now – but that's only because it is one example of how capitalism and socialism can be crossed over in a way that helps both the 'Greater Good' AND the individual's personal freedom to achieve their goals.
