Though Sans was a more difficult boss battle, this doesn’t mean that he was more powerful in any way. Once Flowey got all the souls, he literally one-shotted Sans, Papyrus, Toriel, Asgor, Alphys, etc.

He did this with a single vine.

That pretty much explains all of it.

True. I suppose what is difficult for Chara to defeat isn't the same for every other character, so in that case, Flowey has defeated Sans, and probably would again.

I never played Genocide – I couldn't bring myself to hurt some of my best fictional friends ever.

It's pretty cool that you let your kid play Undertale, but it isn't really aimed at or made for children. Depends on the age (13+ would be fine), but some of the themes are way too heavy for a kid to appreciate, and some of the content (especially the genocide route, I mean any game with a 'genocide route' isn't exactly going to be tailored to children) is far too disturbing / horrific / creepy.

I mean it's a game that utilises murder as a core gameplay mechanic, not exactly Super Mario Sunshine. Although that is a good game; damn, kid's games are awesome sometimes. Zelda, Mario, Banjo Kazooie, Crash Bandicoot. So many classics that still hold up today and offer enjoyment to kids and adults alike.

Wow, you look at reason. Thanks for that.

You made a point I couldn't really refute, Flowey literally does swipe Sans at one point. But I suppose that was a surprise attack – if Sans was the last one standing and all other hope was gone, he might have a bit more of a chance of pulling out the gaster blasters and merking Flowey. Tough call, tbh.

It was a surprise attack, but a surprise attack that was powerful enough to defeat every main boss in the game in a single shot.

Though, Sans would stand more of a chance if he saw it coming.

He would still fail though.

That's Sans's trick, though – he only has 1hp anyway ("The easiest enemy"😉, but as long as he's aware of what's going on, he could dodge it. The only reason Chara wins is because of his/her ruthless determination, and how he/she breaks Sans's spirit through the fight. I'm thinking that unless Flowey got an initial surprise attack in, he wouldn't stand a chance. If we assume that their battle would include them having to face each other's bullet hells, then Sans's attacks are much harder to survive, which means that he has a higher chance of winning, as his agility would allow him to easily step through Flowey's relatively easy challenges, whilst Flowey would likely flounder in a never-ending stream of blasters and bones.

Flowey has an incredible amount of determination as well. Since he became a flower, he has always been determined to get stronger. While Frisk broke his spirit, Asreal would simply absorb it, giving Sans no more life or ability of dodging.

Asreal Dreemur can also teleport around Sans, I’m pretty sure Sans isn’t capable of dodging every single attack coming at him. He can dodge well, but he is not invincible.

He also stands no chance to Dreemur in close combat.

Really I just wanted scribbles praise

But I didn’t get it weep

You raise a number of salient points, sir. It is true that Sans only needs to mess up once to lose, and that Flowey (particularly as Asriel) has attacks in spades. I'm not really sure who'd I go for now – there are too many variables at play, and too much chance is involved, too.
