Ah, that sucks, sounds like he's a mean drunk and those people can be true bastards, I know a couple. Especially sucks since he's family.

Once he's sober he'll probably realize what an ass he was and apologize to you at least. If not, look past it and spend your Christmas with others, it's him, not you.
