however. the pay is never enough to live off of. this drives cooks and chefs to drinking and drug us. depression. anger. its a stressful job. but if youre actually in it you cant do anything else. nothing will feel as accomplishing as surviving a service. its like going to war and always coming out as the victor. being so in the shits is a rush. you can't find that feeling at a lot of jobs these days.

you have to be fast and it has to be perfect. if youre not ready then the whole team isnt ready.
you work as a team to do the best you can. you wont be thanked. you might not get tip out. the hours suck. managment thinks youre trash.
but you do it day in and day out. for nothing. but you cant leave because youre too invested. you have learned. you have traveled. you love it and would never trade it for anything.

thats what it takes. every day. it sucks. its amazing

i actually did. a really long time ago.
nothing came of it.

I'd watch a Dave Kodak movie

we once wrote a spoof film, where the credits were to be drawn out in cheese whiz ( it is a spreadable cheese) and then half way into the film a character would slip and fall into the left over credits and compain about who the hell was writing on the floor with cheese whiz. and that character would spend the rest of the movie covered in it.
