I thought the story ends with him getting a new family not his family being brought back?

I'll leave that one to LoB because I dunno mans

I have a lot of beliefs about the OT God and the God after his experience as a human through Jesus tho

I remember mentioning it in a thread in the religion forum cuz I too thought they got brought back, but apparently no they didn't.

Though even if they did, how sick is it to allow someone else to torture and murder just so God can brag Job totes loves him regardless of circumstance?

God makes Cthulhu look like a puppy. God has killed more people than Hitler or communism.

He literally had his son tortured and murdered to "save" people.

He was his Son

You judge God by human standards

Yeah I know, God spiritually f*cked his own mom.

I judge him by the standards he supposedly set forth: thou shall not kill.

God created life in the first place, and His OT Self was one of angry confusion, because He gave us free will, yet we abused it. So He lived life as a man, and saw that life from our level was indeed painful and difficult. After that, He died for our sins, and gave us guidance in how to achieve a peace that will last forever. He's a good Dude.

How could he not see life was painful, being omnipotent? Did he not give us the ability to feel pain? Could have made us invulnerable, but given us a set life span of like 70 years.

Being omnipotent does not give you the full, direct human experience. The pain a man must suffer is greater than any animal.

Besides, 70 years? Sure, on earth. Otherwise you get to like, live forever. Job's family went to straight to Heaven. Death is only permanent to those who live in darkness.

Being omnipotent you're also omniscient, so he'd have known about his experiences as Jesus before Jesus even existed.

Hell he'd have known Satan would be evil lol.

And yeah I'm sure Job's family were grateful God allowed them to be butchered by Satan in order to prove a point.

🙂?

Of course God knew the pain people suffered beforehand — but only living as a man can make you understand what it is like. He knew this, and so let Himself live and die through it. He gave us the model of Man, the Ideal. To live as Jesus did is almost impossible, but yet we try, not only for life in Heaven, but to make life better for those who live here.

Maybe he should have done that before murdering...countless people.

Like I say, you're viewing it from a modern, human perspective. You have little poetry, nor spirituality. Such matters are often hard to grasp, for they exist out of everyday life.

I could go into my various ideas about Satan's relationship to God and Man, but that's a whole 'nother plate of cake.

Again, angry OT God / Holy Trinity God, big difference. You are conflating.

I do have spirituality. I believe there is life after death, I just don't believe there is a heaven or hell or a being that created everything.
