Thanks Scribble. This is all good advice. Hopefully I can break the seal any night now. I've actually knocked out a few hundred words this morning - not much but it's a start.
I'd love to hear more about what you're working on! If you want to chat lit any time just gimme a message. I don't have enough people to talk shop with

Sounds good, girly. I've just been writing short stories lately. I submitted one to a writing contest for people under 30, so I'm hoping to hear back something but won't hear until at least the end of the month. So in the interim I've written a few others to stay frosty.
I can tell when I'm writing unpassionately though and it feels flat, so I get discouraged. But I figure if I power through I can always fix it on a second draft later.

Honestly you are such a ****ing piece of shit
I'm trying to snap her out of it. Point out she won't be able to enjoy Quincy's work if she isn't around to see it.

Defo feel you about writing w/o passion too. I've stopped many projects due to losing passion. I can barely write at all unless that's febrile fervour is there. But also yeah first drafts are important. My first drafts rarely change that much anymore but it took me ages to get to that level and also I work on multiple drafts over time until they're 'perfect' (my second novel is on its fourth or fifth draft and is still a bit of a mess)
But yeah. Highly rec getting into writing poetry! It's very rewarding as you can finish them in one sitting
