I'll eat them from time to time because they're very healthy, but they're gross man. There's only two times I can say I enjoyed the taste of Brussels sprouts:
1) My father-in-law baked them one year for Thanksgiving with bacon and he had so much bacon in the pan that the sprouts absorbed enough of the fat that they tasted like bacon
2) My wife made them once with salt, lime olive oil and chili powder and they tasted mostly like salt, lime, olive oil and chili powder
I guess the point I'm trying to make is Brussels sprouts taste gross as is to me.

Running a Mind Flayer some time back was so fun. I had a neutral Illithid that the party crossed, Drississk the Enraptured, who said thon'd let the party go if the party went and assassinated another Illithid that was a rogue to the Elder Brain. This squidman, literally named ****ing Azathoth the Cruelly Learned, was a Mind Flayer mage who sacrificed thons place in the natural order after thon found an ancient tome that made thon think thon was a direct descendant of Kthulhu (which was true, but regardless thon was led astray by the aboleth Krllllzxght).Thon (Azathoth) had a whole army of Drow and Duergar servants (obvs this was set in the Underdark), some of which were humans that the party was looking for. They confronted Azathoth, who started killing more of the human servants as the fight went on (by bursting their heads Scanners-style); by the end of the fight, one of the party had their brain consumed by an Intellect Devourer, and all of the human servants aside from two kids had died; Azathoth the Illithid was finally kicked to death and fired out of the window of his tower, his body falling into the great subterranean sea, at the bottom of which lay the ruins of an Aboleth city.
The now-freed Drow and Duergar started warring in the encampment beneath, so the party made it out post-haste, chased down the waterway by the aboleth. It was a good session.
Sounds like some good stuff. This is why you should get Neverwinter Nights. The games 2nd expansion takes you into the epic levels(around level 28-30 depending on what side quests you do). One of these you go to an illithid slave encampment in the Underdark. You can fight them or work with them.
