It depends on the place and your circumstances

If ur on benefits/disabled you can get discounted or free appointments at most places

Or if you or any close relative has glaucoma then it’s free

That was for a basic exams

Got lasik a year ago and haven’t had to worry about contacts or glasses but I guess I still need to exam but I’ll wait awhile. Insurance doesn’t cover eye exams
