I just think that people who can't enjoy a good ol action movie without depth are just narrowing their movie experience. Many of the classics are just plain action movies, such as die hard, terminator, and many martial arts classics.
They set the standards though, didn't they?

the only people who could be considered experts on movies would be critics

everyone else just has their opinion

Haha, sorry, are you thick as a brick (by Jethro Tull)? Critics are people, for ****s sake. Anyone can be a critic. You think because they're paid for it, it makes their opinion any more valid?

I find it to be the opposite, actually neither of them count. Its the proffesors at college who teach movie making and screenplay writing. They know what makes a good movie.

Guess she didn't think I was 18 either. Stupid ****.

How dare you reference Tull without my permission.

There is, though. Movie buffs. They understand what's better in films, and what makes shit films. Just like music buffs. All arrogant twats, but it takes an arrogant **** to tell others just what shit they're watching.

I'm a movie buff too, but you're still wrong about real movie fans. It's all about opinion. You call a movie like transformers crap and anyone who likes it is wrong when it comes to movie, which is just bollocks.

I can say the same about Chasing Amy, I don't like it. You do. You're not a real movie fan. Am I right? Of course not.

I think directors like Michael Bay know what's better in films, which is why they are so successful. Corporate shit or no, they pack out the movie theatres. Which is what they are looking for.

Only read the last part, about Bay knowing what's good, not even bothering arguing with someone who says anything like that. Seriously.

being a film critic is their actual profession they studied at college to be able to sit on their asses all day and watch movies
like web designers and game programmers went to college to sit on their asses all day and program games and create graphics that make fanboys jizz in their pants when they see it at E3
movie critics criticize movies and points out the little flaws and faults
therefore having film makers want to be better next time and be praised

Is your opinion more valid because you don't like "corporate" movies? Again it's all about opinion. I don't care what you like and hate. I'm just miffed about that real movie fan comment.

The modern world, eveything nice, big, flashy and exciting.

I don't give a shit about the modern age

Good thing or not, that's the way it gos.
If you don't give new movies a chance how can you say you're a real movie fan and others aren't? See the problem?
