A lot of women have reported this pattern of many men being particularly condescending to them, often about topics they are well versed in, while not displaying such behaviour with men, for example their colleagues. I tend to believe those many accounts, and from personal experience can tell that being condescended very rarely happens to me. I have also witnessed comments and tweets directed at women which fit these claims. Sure there's condescending people that are condescending to everyone. But to me it seems evident that there's also a lot of men who are condescending mainly or solely to women (perhaps often not even consciously).
I take it that in your rationale, it's mostly women that are just condescending people in general but not because of sexism and men are mostly sexists?
