Funnily enough I'm watching wrestlemania 28 and now cm punk is doing his straight edge bit

My finds so far point to W being pronounced as both 'W' and 'V' for different words, as well as there being different dialects of German on top of that, so that must be why even Germans mispronounce 'Werner Herzog'. Most sites have German people pronouncing the word and they all say 'Verner' as well.
