Zatanna gave him hell in the first encounter. Then Lobo came in strait up pimp smacked her with his chain.

She could barely speak during their second encounter.

We have a round about idea, where he stands against tanks. Reign in Hell, simply serves to show how he stacks up to magic.

Well, I agree. And I like the Main Man. Considering he's got clones here I don't see how he loses to Orion save for BFR.

Other then BFR, Lobo was about to tag dat ass in the first encounter.

Wurd.

I liked Reign in Hell and all, but um...it wasn't like he was all that great in the arc. He wasted a bunch of no name demons with ease. Etrigan. Etc. The magicians he fought were just that - magicians. Not tanks like himself, so that really doesn't qualify IMO.

That's not it. Lobo is the last guy you would peg for being the big bad locked up in the darkest dungeon in hades.

You see it coming and its still doesn't fit i.e. cool character, wrong premise. Anywhoo I felt Reign in Hell wasn't going to be all that around issue 3, the setting was good even the characters (Lilith, Etrigan, Dr. Occult, Asmodel, Zatanna, Satanus, Blaze etc), but the story doesn't reach the heights expected.

I definitely agree. I think the last few issues made the arc a let down. I also don't like the two-stories-in-one format they used. I know Trinity used it, too. Its not confusing, its just...I don't want to be reading one thing, have it end, and then seemingly take up an entirely different story. Meh.

See I like that format in some stories, but in Trinity it's just terrible because I can't stand the tarot card girl's story, lol. Shit, I can barely handle the primary story, and hers just drags it down worse.

The two stories in Reign in Hell had primary characters that were at least compelling and interesting.

Well, not only do I not like the tarot card girl's story, but in RiH, I didn't like Dr. Occult's sidestory. So. 🙁

Why is that? Lobo constantly had stories that revolved around Hell in DC. From his contract with Heaven and Hell, to meetings with Etrigan, in fact, Etrigan took him to Hell for a while once, and he started messing stuff up. In Underworld Unleashed, Neron went across space to find Lobo and make a 'deal'.

The Etrigan incident was a one-off, a bit of an action comedy (like most Lobo stories) that showed he was uncontrollable even for hell and one of its toughest enforcers.

In Under world unleashed Neron was making deals with a lot of people. Didn't he kill Mongul Sr. for refusing his offer? He went to Apokolips (when DS was missing) and made deals with many of their elites. Neron has done that type of thing with many characters not linked to hell.

Anyway Lobo is not the image you envision for that role, and you know it.

Well I know that the story revolved in the occult/mystic ordeal. However, its primary setting is Hell. And Hell plays a part in the DCU in general, not just to the occult/mystic. That is why we see, Lobo in this arc (plus its Keith Giffen story). Who else could have endured the torment, to power the labyrinth?

Orion

What would be the highest showings for each character?

I would think Orion's battle to the death with Darkseid in his series is his best showing.

Lobo’s absolute best showings? Crap I don’t think its even fair, Lobo is a toon force character. His creator Giffen admitted, that his character was not meant to interact with main stream DC.

Fights
(Lobo’s Back.)
He took on the best of Heaven and Hell’s forces, only to bring down the God Squad in a fit of rage in a non kill zone section.
