Seriously, does any of this discussion (between FotN and dadudemon) have any relevance to the actual film? No, no it doesn't.

STFU.

It does. That's why we're talking about it. Whether or not they were class 1 or class 2 is a good point.

No shit, yo. ****ing haters up in this *****.

The part where they question the Prawn in the dark room is not even in the movie but its in the trailer/teaser.

One of many things I hope to see in an extended version, as there's apparently hours of film.

Though that could have just been a marketing scene.

this movie is pretty f-in awesome

Duuuude...,noice sig

Thanks.

Uh... chill, guys. C'mon, we finally have an original movie idea in Hollywood after what feels like... forever.

This movie is why I love cinema. Doc style of The Office meets City of God & Children of Men - best movie of the year! MIDNIGHT SHOW WORTHY! Inspired by 1988's Alien Nation, but compared to that average cop show, D9 is definitely better.

Exactly, this movie's originality was more refreshing than a lot of what I've seen in theaters this year. Definitely one of the best films of the year.

For some reason, all good, I was thinking of the film The Constant Gardener during parts of District 9.

Alien Nation was a great series.

Except for the fact that it's made by a New Zealand film company and written and directed by a South African.

Couldn't help yourself, could you?

Just had to go and shit all over his "I'm the new guy who'll preview movies for you because I think I know what in the **** I'm talking about' angle.

lol No. I said it was an average cop show. 😉

@Robtard: Er, no... Just expressing my view of the movie as a fellow movie lover. My word might not even be close to the truth of this movie's real quality, and that is why we, the audience, gather in the theater to explore it - the movie truth.

Good answer, sir. Good answer.

I waited to see this tonight...

I am glad I saw it free... The dialogue s^cked, the acting was very very very poor... The cgi was right out of 40's and 50's movies..

I rate this 3/10

Dialogue and acting, guess that could be a matter of taste. But the CGI was top-notch, so I'd get your eyes checked, definitely wasn't rubber costumes and penciling on the film stock.

I find it amazing how you love almost every movie, including Transformers 2, Wolverine, G.I. Joe and probably Terminator and THIS (District 9) is the movie you dislike.

And not only do you dislike it, your reasoning is simply illogical, "cgi out of 40's and 50's movies"?! They didn't have fvckin CGI in the 40s and 50s.

And let me mention again, you enjoyed some of the shittiest action/blockbusters of the year and you thought THIS dialogue sucked? That doesn't make sense.

But whatever. You've always seemed like a decent enough guy, but I really don't think you have that good taste in movies.

Woah!

This is like the first time we've rated a movie almost the opposite since I've been on the boards. haha

Still he dozen or so other times can't be wrong. I'll still trust your reviews of films I haven't seen, over many others. 😉

Saw this, it was neat. I want a little child-alien thingy, that thing was cute in a: "get the f*ck away from me, here's money for your chicles you're selling now go stand over there" type of way. The CG was great, looked as real as an alien spaceship would look like. Ending was kinda sad, and left me wondering what the f*ck was gonna happen after 3 years go by.
