Samus Aran (Metroid) Versus Link (Ocarina of Time)
I've always been rather interested in how something like this would turn out. Two classic Nintendo characters, both of whom follow a familiar progression style, but come from opposite ends of the genre spectrum.
The battleground is a cube 100 X 100 X 100 square miles long/wide/high, giving plenty of room to move. About 25 square miles of the ground is flat, even surface. The other 75 square miles vary in terrain from rocky, to icy, et cetera (i.e. elemental, I suppose you could say).
Against the walls of the cube are outcroppings and other such protrusions, some of which make mazes, others of which are scattered and look to be made to be reformed. Among these puzzles are items and upgrades. Why are they there? Well, I will explain...
Both combatants start off naked, meaning Zero Suit Samus and Casual Link (I'm not sure what else to call him). Their items are scattered amongst the cube, one character item residing by another. For example, Samus's Plasma Beam upgrade lies next to Link's Fire Arrow upgrade, both of which might be found surrounded by lava, perhaps, or maybe encased in ice.
This is to give a bit more strategy to the battle. Should Link go for the Hylian shield first, or stop Samus from grabbing her paralyzer gun, or worse, her Power Suit? Or, alternatively, should Samus keep Link from grabbing the Master Sword?
So, fellow debators, who will come out on top and claim the victor of this Epic Nintendo battle?
