Obama Is Said to Consider Preventive Detention Plan

President Obama told human rights advocates at the White House on Wednesday that he was mulling the need for a “preventive detention” system that would establish a legal basis for the United States to incarcerate terrorism suspects who are deemed a threat to national security but cannot be tried, two participants in the private session said.
"Our only comfort is that the terrorists will probably turn the clock back only 200 years rather than 5000. For what we now fear is not so much the death and suffering that their infernal regimes can cause, but the loss of liberty that will come about as a result of Western government's response to terrorist acts. We now worry not about the end of civilization but rather about the... end of various socio-political institutions that emerged in Europe and North America in the wake of the Bourgeois revolutions."

It was all terrible when Bush was doing it, but now that it's Obama..there is no problem. So it's quite ironic how you would call out Republicans for having a problem with this now while being okay with it for the past 8 years; when Democrats have been bitching and moaning for 8 years about the same issues but are now okay with them because a man with a D next to his name is doing it.

What are the types of people being detained, though? That may shed some light on this. I don't think it is as simple as you make it out to be. Enlighten me.
