do any of you guys ever do the arena? I did three games this morning at my friends house and got a ranking of I believe like 1750

I tried arena a couple of days ago. Can't remember for the life of me what rank I got.

i did arena, pretty good

Wanna have 1v1/doubles/team slayer/invasion/etc some time?

So.

What is different in this game that separates it from other Halos?

I played it at a friend's house who just got it a few days ago and noticed few differences.

I hope you don't mean with wammamarmamamrmam you are going to regret it.

except the 1v1 haermm

so the other day i was in EB, picking up a copy of army of two:40th day.

and new EB guy(i miss old EB guy, he was da-bomb) and i were having a chat about halo reach.
he said that he felt really bad for 360 fans right now, because nothing good just came out/is coming out (before late fall) and unless someone is a halo fanboy, they have nothing to be hyped about.

i played the first two halo games, the first one rocked.
2nd, kinda "eh" and i never felt like picking up 3 or ODST because of it.

So i wanna know, is reach as good as the first halo? its good points, its bad points, etc.......(i don't care much for online play, so you don't have to touch on that)

oh, and i should note, since i know how halo fans get(or at least the ones i know) I don't wanna hear some BS that halo is the greatest everything that ever ever'd in the whole universe of cum stains on the sofa, i want an honest gamer opinion.
If i pay 70$ for a game, i want at least 70 hours of playtime before i get bored. price vs hours is always a factor.

Rent it?

I am a Halo fan, though not a rabid fanboy, and I think this game is very good. If you haven't played H3/ODST I think this game will be a great buy for you since it has evolved versions of all the features in H3/ODST with an even better online. The campaign is also quite good, though most haters will say they expected a 8-10 hours FPS campaign to have Epic storylines and character development like RPGs.

I dunno wtf that EB guy was talking about 360 fans being shafted when Gears 3 comes out in february.

hm, i would rent it, but between work and the locations of stores(if there are any left) im really not looking to pay a shit-ton of late fees, also having to open an account at said stores or rental places (my town has been closing down over the past year, we ain't got shit left.)

iuno, the only time i buy a game anymore, is for co-op campaign(for my cousin) or single play campaign.
i'm not much for online play, it stops being fun after the first few minutes because nobody wants to have fun, they just need to be the best.

gears and borderlands and army of two and kane/lynch are all fun, but i miss that sci-fi shooter where you can see what the hell is going on; type of game.

Halo 3's campaign is great on co-op and challenging because now, unlike in Halo 3, the difficulty scales depending on how many players are doing it. You can play it with friends, and in october 7 they will make it available for matchmaking as well. Also firefight is awesome for co-op. I guarantee firefight will get your heart beating.

This stupid ****ing game needs to end. I stopped having fun 3 missions ago once I realized that they were going to just

Spoiler:
systematically kill everyone off
. I'm playing on ****ing Legendary by myself. What possible reason do I have to play through a level that is basically firefight mode for 2 hours? Fighting through 50 elites that triple overshields and a thousand brutes with rocket launchers anf fuel rod guns on a level that for some stupid ass reason has ten racks full of assault rifles and shotguns but not a single DMR is not.fun.

I am very, very disappointed with Bungie.

edit- lol. I'm so frusterated that I can't even type.

Legendary solo didn't give me that much trouble >_>; Halo 2 still has the crown for most frustrating Halo campaign on legendary.

So where are you at? Maybe I can give ya some tips.

Just finished it. Halo 2 still takes the cake as well methinks. I didn't even bother trying to beat 2, lol. No achievements incentive.

Anyway, my biggest beef with the difficulty wasn't just the fact that it was hard, it was that there was no reason for it being so hard, at least in-universe I mean. I don't mind companies making the game retardedly hard (that's the point of the hardest difficulty yah), but I like it to at least make sense. There's no reason I could go through the game infiltrating high priority areas and retireving sensitive information and running around various relics, and yet it's when I'm walking throuhg a warehouse to a MAC gun that they decide to throw four elites with triple overshields and a hundred brutes at me. It's just unimaginative.

Been watching a review on this saying the campaign is bit of a let down,

"The planet is ment to be getting invaded but it does'nt feel like it is and too many plot turns like a bad action film to try and tug at emotions and also bungie not going to the extra mile to fleash out the characters so you can care about them"

If that was the level that u have to set up the 5 defense guns and it takes forever to open the doors, I believe there was a rack with DMRs. That freaking level took too damn long. After a while I stopped caring for the defense gunners and pretty much let the AI do all the work.

As for everyone

Spoiler:
dying
, It bothered me a bit but I realized the game was based on the Fall of Reach and knew that most of them spartans were usually sent to suicide missions. Kat's

death
bothered me the most because it was stupid. The other ones went down fighting or doing something heroic.

I found solo Legendary on this harder than Halo 2. Some of the levels I kinda took the easy way out by letting the AI do most of the damage or really cheap stuff like in the last level. I took down a few phantoms, got off the gunner, hid behind it using the bubble shield and once the main ship was in range, I got in and quickly shot it.

Has anyone been farming credits?

Just finished the campaign. I thought it was pretty good, and if this is the last Halo made by Bungie not a bad story to end it with.

The campaign is good, not Half Life 2 good, but good none the less. The plot twists they are talking about are not really plot twists. I find it ridiculous to think one will get to care about characters when there is only 8-10 hours to play with characterization, plot and all the action.

I think he is talking about the last part before the MAC gun. There are no DMRs found until you have to man the gun. As for The Package's last stand it is one of the easiest parts in the games, but it takes forever lol.

Kat's event was meant to show the brutality of the war.

Spoiler:
And not everyone can go out in a blaze of glory like Carter IMO

I read about people doing that in the MAC gun, but I still shot down the banshees and phantoms because I like the BFG.

I haven't farmed cRs yet.
