I think both Anakin and Jar Jar have been handled the best in this series; better than in the movies. It's having lots of episodes and stories to tell that helps flesh things out.

It the series does not end with JarJar moving permanently to a home on Alderaan to live out his days coping with inoperable spaceaids or cosmic blackdeath, in there many beautiful lakes then there is no payoff to it.

Well that can't happen, since he was present at Padme's funeral in ROTS. But knowing Lucas, he'll make Jar Jar the crucial hero who got the Rebellion the Death Star info in the upcoming Star Wars live action series (should it ever start to get made.)
