Daredevil's mask covers his eyes. I think it'd be pretty obvious to Batman that if Daredevil is running around without tripping over stuff, he'd pick up on the fact that Daredevil is probably using his other senses to pick up the slack. Other than sonics, he could use a really nasty pepper spray to screw up Murdock's olfactory senses. I know that part of Stick's training allows for DD to block out certain senses, switch and refocus them. But in the heat of battle, it would surely provide more than enough of an advantage for Batman to capitalize on. As for pure H2H, it's tough to say who is superior, but my instinct tells me Batman is the superior here. After all, his suit is armor and Daredevil's is pretty much just cloth.Batman 6/10.
While you make sense, at the same time it goes against what the comics have shown. I was under the impression that DD's mask does indeed have eye windows that just happen to be the same color so it looks homogenous. Because if you follow that logic, nearly every superhero's masks covers their eyes. All we see is the white "space" where their eyes should be. Why can't DD's just be colored differently?
Another example comes to mind. When Danny was impersonating DD, he used what appeared to be an exact replica of DD's costume. His mask did not look any different, no different colored eye holes or anything.
Batman also runs around without tripping over things, even when he's not looking at them. Due to his subconscious spatial awareness and skill, wouldn't you say? I don't know why Batman would think any differently if he saw DD doing the same thing.
Also, yes, some of Batman's gadgets could work here. My only problem with it is that I don't think he would use them so willy-nilly in a one-on-one fight with another apparent street level martial artist, unless he already knew who he was fighting OR had to go save the universe or something and had no time to fight. And also, like you said, he has received extensive training in the ways of blocking out a particular sense to focus on others. I'm sure this has been used in the heat of battle before.
In terms of martial arts skill, I would give the advantage to Batman there. But DD is RIGHT behind him. What gives DD the advantage though is his radar sense+MAD reflexes/reaction time.
DD 6/10.
Well, I remember a Daredevil comic during the Kesel/Nord run where Karen Page is running a nightly radio call-in show that is focusing on Daredevil and one of the callers (a regular civvy) phones in and starts reminding everyone that Daredevil's mask covers his eyes. Of course, since he is a NYC'er and the myth of Daredevil abounds, he theorizes that his mask covers deformed bug eyes that can see through cloth. Lol. If a normal bystander citizen can make that observation from glimpses of Daredevil (disregarding the erroneous conclusion), I simply believe that Batman, with his eye for detail and keen insight, would be able to tell that Daredevil relies on his other senses in the heat of a fight.
And virtually everytime Daredevil has been hit with sonics, he's gone down like a sack of bricks. I actually can't think of a time where he was able to overcome it. And I'm truly confident he's never been able to overcome it and keep up with someone as relentless and skilled as Batman. But if you have scans, by all means. Personally, I like Daredevil more, if you can show that his sense overload weakness is negligible, I'm willing to change my mind.
Batman 6/10. We're not that far off anyway. I could reasonably see a 5/10 stalemate between the two also. I just think Batman is crafty enough to target DD's vulnerabilities for the majority.
hmm being the batman fanboy that i am i have to go with him however matt is no joke when it comes to h2h and would give batman one hell of a fight but due to batmans superior(only slightly!)fighting skills and uncanny ability to jobber the shit out of just about anyone this side of apokolips im giving batman 7/10
