If you were a movie character in a film, youd be Joaquin Pheonix stabbing Maximus Decimus Meridius in the side, before the big fight, gimping Maximus horribly......and the STILL getting your assed whipped.

For the last time, the magic in Harry Potter must be biological in nature. If this is true, than SW tech theoretically has means of countering this. According to Wookieepedia, the average human in Star Wars can live up to 200 years, maybe more. That means biology has progressed to such a point that they can perhaps artificially keep people alive past their "sell date". Assuming that "magic" is biological(Probably a manifestation of the Force), the troopers would have been prepared for this eventuality.
