It contained extremely concentrated amounts of trumponium gas that would form a plasma rod when heated.

Fiber optics? Proof on that? Hmm? Yeah thought not.

Oh yeah, here we go:

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Inert_power_insulator

An inert power insulator was one of the many components of a lightsaber hilt. It provided a means of insulating the power cell of a lightsaber from the handle itself, thus preventing any leakage from electrocuting the weapon's owner, due to its composition of matter that did not conduct electrical current.

Any questions? Yeah, thought not.

Yeah, what I said, I even posted the diatium link from Wookiepedia for you.

Good lord, I never claimed that lightsabres have fiber optics, just that your claim of "wiring means it's electrical" is retard-logic.

There's something you finally have, bravo. Then again, it's still plasma energy, as that is what ultimately powers the sabres, along with the force sensitive crystals. The Hogwarts spell is also designed to counter 21st centery electrical devices (except for radios, cuz they're magic, LoL), so this super-advanced shit very well might be too much.

Edit: You also avoided my question again for the third time now. Which device in that lighsabre schematic provides the electrical current? Cuz I don't see no AA's.

I've found a better explanation for lightsabers that also discounts RJs claims: http://www.forceacademy.com/Lightsaber/lightsaber_factfiction.htm

No...It doesn't...It means you're stating an opinion that you think is fact. Semantics have nothing to do with it.

Electric stuff doesn't work around hogwarts.

End of discussion....

no ones debating that. so why even bring it up?

Yeah not really.

Rob, come on.....

Electrocuting? Electrical current? Doesn't matter what provides the current, all that matters is that electricity is involved. It will go haywire, and the saber will not function properly, if not at all.

It's a valid question, that you keep avoiding.

There is one, possibly two power-sources for the lightsabre in that schematic:

-The power cell, which is filled with some gas and produces plasma (not electricity). Though it can burn or shock you like electricity.

-The Force sensitive crystals, which clearly aren't electrical.

So where does this "electricity" come from?

Actually that is a BOOK feat, not a movie feat. And in the book they go haywire, they don't just die. But like a said, no references were made to that in the movie, so its irrelevant either way.

how about we call it a tie and get this thread over with?

I agree. 😖hifty:

Clones won the original setting and every gimp-setting since this started. With the one exception of that super-gimp, 'clones have to kill all or lose, wizards can teleport far away and they get two hours of free-time/prep to leave.'

I watched DH 1-2 today ✅

Good for you.
Full uncut editions, I hope.

I cannot watch them out of season, myself.
(Im still fine for watching 3 and 4 this time of year though.)

Ironically the movies were summer releases.

You mean you watch DH every year at Christmas too?

Every year for 20 years, this year.

I started doing it a few years ago, back when I was married. My ex was like "ZOMG BRUCE WILLIS IS SEXY." haermm

Y'see I wouldnt have tolorated that.

Talking during xmas Die Hard is not permitted here. 😖hifty:

A big no no. 😛

haermm I can imagine you in McClane mode.

Vest on, and everything. 😉
(You can even change from white vest to green vest halfway through the movie session with no explaination... 😖hifty: )

One year I'll walk on broken glass with no shoes on, and bleed, just to get that DH feeling a little more..
