Anyone tryng to study in UK this year?

if anyone is, can you please tell me what to do if you're being sponsored by your family members and are not financing yourself?

Why would you have to do anything specific if you are sponsored? Just apply to the University, via UCAs for first semesters then have your family pay the bill. Simple.

If you meant that you have to finance yourself though, I believe that UCAS (or perhaps my university) sent me information on financial aid available to people, if so, you should probably read through that, otherwise there are loans of course, though I didn't look into that.

that's what the uni said. apparently the tier4 requires that you personally have your OWN account at least 28 days old before you apply.
when i asked at the embassy though, they said nothing about it and told me to get a letter from my parents saying that they are sponsoring me. i did that...but they rejected my visa on grounds that i didn't provide proof of funds of my own? 🙁

So, you got accepted to a University already? And now they didn't accept your Visa?

Hmm, where are you from. I can't help you from personal experience as I live within the EU, so I didn't require a Visa, but generally, if you are accepted by a University, I believe you get a School Visa, I didn't know that you needed your own account, I am pretty sure when I went to school in the US I did not, though I was a minor then.

Hmm, either way, perhaps give us some more information on your situation, i.e. have you already been accepted by a school? Can't you just open an account or use your parents if that's the only problem, where do you live, etc.

Where about in the UK are you going to study?

London - Kingston Uni

Buddy of mine and his gf tried to get into English schools. She had already studied over there so there were some contacts. Apparently they don't enjoy giving money to Americans, so they would've basically been paying their way through entirely (for grad school and doctorates, no less), and it wasn't worth it.

...damn, that sucks 🙁

Are you sure? There might be some quick ways to get visas between the US and England, though I am not sure.

Btw, if you really want our help, could you maybe answer my questions, they are essential.

Hi I'm Bardock and I'm a smug piece of shit.

That's not really the reason is it? It's because the Scottish government decides to spend its budget in a different way than other parts of the UK.

It also contributes to the problem of there being hundreds of pretty much useless graduates who've done soft and easy courses and barely scraped through just so they can say they've got a degree.

Not Scotland's fault you people don't know what to spend your money on.

😆

sorry guys, my bad for not giving enough info.
-have been accepted at kingston
-have got a letter from parents who are sponsoring most of my studies (since my job wasn't paying AT ALL)+their passport copies+bank statements
-filled the VAF9 and Appendix8 which is mandatory for general students
-will be residing in the dorms but they are not accepting a deposit yet so haven't paid that, but have the letter stating that i'll be living there
-have my transcripts, degree, NOC, passports, recommendation letters

after all this i was rejected a visa on grounds that i didn't give my own personal bank statements despite the glaringly obvious letter neatly stapled with the forms that my parents who are sponsoring my studies cry

i opened this thread to ask if anyone has gone through this/knows something along these lines.

once again, sorry for being vague before.
