Nah, I just didn't even know they had stuff about post-Endor Luke back then. So I shut up, listened to what everyone said, and here I am, right 90% of the time (note: that number may be off by 9%) .

As for Sidious against revan,

For one, george lucas says that sideous is the most powerful sith in history. Revan is a sith, and he is in history, making him < sidious. This much is G canon.

the following is a comparing of feats in the same genre.

Mind control:

Sidious has influenced the outcome of battles and the minds of millions across the galaxy from coruscaunt through the force. Revan learned a language by taking it from the minds of the rakatan.

Sidious wins.

Lightsaber Skills:
We have nothing from revan. One of the ancient jedi had a vision with revan with his sword open so we know he must at least had some saber fighting with malak. Sidious defeated yoda, the greatest foe the galaxy had ever known.

Force:
This is where it gets tricky. Technically, game mechanics =/= canon but for the sake of continuity, i will list a few.

The highest form of lightning that you can learn in the game, force storm, does simultaneous damage to up to 5 targets and can instantly kill things like beggars, nubs, thugs, civilians, etc, but has a hard time against sith and soldiers, taking two-three casts to kill them.

Sidious has the potential to vaporize warriors with his lightning in less than one second. He has also created a force storm that has ravaged entire planets.

Knowledge:
revan has the combined knowledge of the ancient sith.

Sidious has the combined knowledge of both sith and jedi holocrons for 6000 years, more than anyone in history. He has also had 70+ years to perfect his techniques.

Sidious obviously wins by any account.
