I really can't understand why this is getting two parts....

If that was the case The Lord of the Rings should have had 5 or 6 movies..

To paraphrase Rick James: "Money is a hell of a drug." That's why.

My favourite two Harry Potter films were the last two, because it was one book spread over two films. After the pressure of having to cram in so much in the previous films, those ones had room to breathe.

They should've really done that with some of the other books too

as for The Hobbit theres a new production vid on facebook.

I refuse to believe Martin Freeman is bloody Bilbo Baggins...

All they needed to do was cast Ricky Gervais as Sauron and Mackenzie Crook as Gollum, and this would have been full of win! 😛

4th Video was least interesting so far, IMO.

All about shooting in 3D, meh, I still prefer 2D.

Still, there's lots of interesting stuff going on in the background - we see the warg fight (without wargs), an interesting conversation between Thorin and what seems to be a ?local farmer with his ?child, many Mirkwood shots including spiderwebs and Bilbo's ?black butterfly panorama from the book and Thorin with Orcrist, Thranduil's wine cellar (lovely!), Elrond reading Thror's Map, a Rivendell feast, the arrival at Rivendell (interestingly in threatening atmosphere - and who is this elf standing beside Gandalf?), Bilbo in his very colorful dressing gown and elf costume details (and who is this elf?).

Also, I found the part about 3D-drawings quite interesting.

I can't wait to see this film the book was amazing , lotr was good and that was in 2004 now it's 2011 this film is going to be a masterpiece

YouTube video

Can't wait!

I will be masturbating until next December over this.

The new Christmas production video features tons of Hobbiton pictures 🙂 such a lovely place.

I don't need no video myself... been there.

How many threads do we need on this movie? I think it needs a couple more. (I'll get on it..)

Huh...pass the pipe already... 😛

Yes, he is the same actor

In the Hobbit why is Thorin Okensheild so tall?

You know in the new film of the Hobbit? The actor who played Thorin Okensheild is 6.2 in height. Why is that? Isn't he supposed to be a dwarf? He should be 5.3 at the very most in reality & even that's a stretching it. Why is he 6.2? Do you think they'll make him look shorter like they did with the hobbits or what?

That vlog looks awesome 🙂 And I'd really love to rent an old Hobbit house... Assuming the doors were built in normal height, which they don't appear to be. lol

Are you aware in the LOTR films, the actor who played Gimli the dwarf (John Rhys-Davies) was actually 6 foot 4? None of the actors playing dwarves & hobbits in these films are actually dwarf & hobbit sized. They use camera tricks and scale doubles wherever it works best. You can't judge everything you see from this trailer. I believe when we see the film, everyone will be in their proper proportion.

Awesome. 👆

Theres a new production video online.

They're including a shit load of stuff from Unfinished tales and the Lord Of The Rings notes at the end of Return Of The King, which will clear up all the Saruman going bad stuff, and Sauron returning and more Elrond-y stuff. But yeah, they did miss out a load of really good stuff from Lord Of The Rings the first time round, which is a bit annoying. I mostly missed 'The Scouring of the Shire'', which was one of the best parts of the book.
