Maybe you guys can help me out a bit..

I've been in a relationship for the past three years. I love him very much and just a few months ago he asked me to marry him and I said yes. We've always had issues, like I'm sure most couples do, but I really feel like it isn't working out.

We have some serious money issues. He hasn't had a job in just over a year and isn't really trying too hard to get one. I wouldn't mind so much if he was at least going to school but he isn't. He went for two years and doesn't even have enough credits to be considered finished first year. He is so damn smart but just smokes a lot of pot thus he is very lazy. I work in a department store, Winners (which I believe is TJ Maxx in the states), making minimum wage, which is barely enough to support one person, let alone two. He gives me crap when I want to buy something for myself complaining that we're always broke. Hello! We wouldn't be so damn broke if you had a job! Anyways, I'm about to turn 21 and I haven't even gone to college yet. I really, really want to go, but I feel like I can't because I have to work.

He is also quite controlling and jealous, which should probably be enough to break up with him right there. He gets so pissed when I want to hang out with my friends without him. He says that he loves me and wants to be with me all the time, but I'm sure he just wants to keep an eye on me. He kind of knows my friends aren't too fond of him.

The trouble I'm having here is I just love him so much, and he makes me really happy (most of the time). I know I should break up with him, and I did a few times, actually, but he always convinces me to take him back. Am I just a sucker? Maybe I just need a shove in the right direction. I'm curious to see what other people think about this situation.

Wow. Reading through this pretty much convinced me to end it.

Your man sucks. I want you to have him read my post.

Hey, a**hole. I work full time and go to school more than full time. I still have time to dick around and do jack shit, like post on a movie forum. You suck. Get a job you lazy piece of shit.

LadyLuck, you need to find someone better than that. No matter how nice he treats you or talks to you, if he isn't working and makes you do everything, he doesn't love you enough to warrant you sticking around. Love isn't just a word.

The end.

And you just told me about me just telling you about what you just did. Point?
