I don't mean to interrupt but I think you are missing the point.

Nate even in non-Shaman form was so powerful that he could empower Hulk and not be diminished himself.

If he could do that at a lesser level and combat Thanos; then the Shaman version would be even more formidable.

Nate's TP is some of the most powerful ever depicted in the MU.

It should be able to at least test that self-defeating aspect of Thanos to some degree.

That is true. No one has forcibly entered Thanos' mind before. We have Moondragon, who fell ill from reading his thoughts, and X-man himself, who nearly wet himself on glimpsing Thanos' mind.

Thanos takes this easily.
