His most powerful attacks (Godblast etc) wouldn't have affected them in the least. It would have been suicide for Thor to try. Physical attacks at least showed some causation. So Thor didn't 'hold back' in its true meaning.

So his less powerful attacks knocked them down but a godblast would not harm then hmm... Like when Thor used it to break open a Celestials brain case yup it wouldn't do much 😆

If that's the case then why did it do so to Exitar himself in another issue?
Why would it be suicide for Thor to try if it worked in another incident?
God Blast > Thor's Physical Blows

My point is that nothing Thor can do will harm the Celestials. Knocking them down only looks good but does absolutely nothing. Also knocking them down can only be done by physical force and not energy projection (they absorb energy).
Of course the God Blast>Thor's Physical Blows to any being less than a celestial.
but Thor's Physical Blows against Celestials > God Blast in terms of looks only since both would do the same damage (nil).
Thor got stupid in the next issue. He was smart in the first issue by not trying the Godblast.
