I think it is TP ... but it's never been stated as either ... due to the quasi-scientific background of the character they would probably say it was a pheromone thing.

Croc's max @ best is 1-2 tons. Nothing more than that. Lizard is @ 10+ tons.
Lizard would literally rip croc in half.
